Should I...

I'm going to the track tommorow, should I change my oil for the first time? I have 27xx miles on my car, and am thinking if I changed the oil, I might get a better time. Also, when I lower my tire pressure, should I do it before or after the tires are warmed up?

an oil change might help..but i don't think the tire pressure will make that much of a difference our cars will only go that fast...if you want to u can go hard core... 1/3 of your tank filled up, no washer fluid, and take out your chairs....

No! The oil and filter that are in the car should be there for at least 5,000 miles. My understanding is that the oil from the factory is specially formulated to help break the engine in. The filter is slightly bigger than the ones you'll put in later and the oil has some kind of additive that helps to get rid of the metal filings generated by the engine components grinding against one other. As I understand it, the imperfections that are inherent within the various engine components (because of the limits of manufacturing tolerances) will be smoothed away so that they can mate up properly to one another.

its true

and regarding going to the track, dont worry about tires etc... because if you actually want to do something wait till the first oil change, dont go ripping up the engine on the initial oil
