Anyone who got a lemon look!!!
Hey whats up. I love my 2k1 civic but it has given me a handful of problems. I already got a new tranny(i have an auto). No I am feeling the same problems that i had before my other trannny went out. I have had enough with this car. I have wasted too much time and $. I want to know how all of you guys that got a lemon got a new model because i really need to do that.

What did the Honda mechanics say? My bro had the same prob with his tranny but it was a 5spd

Rep Power: 0 Im begining to feel as if I got a lemon. I have had this problem with my car idling really loe...like 1-200. They said it was a faulty idle valve and fixed it...now it is waaaayyy to high. its running about 6000rpm. Check out my thread in vehicle issues/probs. I just had to get honda to tow it and try to figure it out. Wish I could get my hands on a 2k2. Seems as if all the probs have been worked out!

Rep Power: 0 Both of my Civics have had 0 problems since I've owned them. A friend of mine had to have his 2k1's auto tranny replaced at 8k miles tho because he manually shifted it (loser).
Anyways if its really a lemon, there was a guy on here who had a lemon and took it to American Honda...lawyer and everything I believe and won...ended up getting a Jetta I think, do a search it should still be on here, wasn't too long ago.

Rep Power: 0 I had still have my Lemon.. Had rust on the door sil.. CV joint broke..Honda screwed up installing my aftermarket tach which fried my original ECU.. one of my ful injectors stopped working..
Solution..
I had Honda pay for a complete inspection of my car at a 3rd party dealership..rought up anythign tha was faulty/defective.. had it all replaced and my car re-painted.. not a single problem since..
I actually took my car to a toyota dealer [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]...

My story wit my car (2001 EX auto):
1) Sunroof shattered with no warning on tilt position (about 5g miles on car)
Honda paid and replaced but I can still hear some glass up in there because they did a crappy job cleaning it out when they replaced it.
2) New tranny (about 10g miles on car)
No real explaination, my car was idling super high durrin gear shifts... had somthing to do with torque converter..Honda paid for it...again
3) Front Strut blown (about 10g miles on car)
I have no suspension work on my car and when I took it in for the tranny they said my front strut (right side) was leaking... and then he told me that 2 days ago another 2k1 Civic that was a sedan had the same exact problem wit the strut...well Honda paid for it
4) When i took it in for tranny they also said I needed new brake pads... (about 10g miles on car)
I paid for this...[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/IMG] ..I was hearin bad brake noises since like 8g miles....horrible

Rep Power: 0 alright here's the deal i live in cali i don't know where you are but in cali the lemon law is if you take your car in 2 or more times for a safety issue then it is a lemon and if it isn't a safety issue its like 4 or 5 times for the same issue and it has to be within so many years of you buying the car. i bought my 2k1 civic march 23, 2001 it had 5 miles on it when i bought it. since then i have had:
1. to have my tranny rebulit after i had them tell me repeatedly that i had caused the problem that i dont know how to drive my car and that i force it into gear thats why the shift forks were probably bent. they kept telling me that they couldn't reproduce the problem therefore they wouldn't fix it. i finally pissed off enough supervisors that they decided to rebuild it mind you i had to tell them about the service bullitin between 3 dealerships you would think that at least one of them would have know about the thing nope none of them and they kept trying to fight me on the fact it existed
2. my brake rotors were warped at 5000 miles and now my pads are getting pretty bad again it was my fault my breaks were toasted i break excessivly and hard i told them thats a bunch of **** they use crappy breaks they are to soft that's why they go
3. my alternator was replaced after they told me i was going to have to pay $65 to look at my car
4. something wrong with my speedo another intermitant problem they can't reproduce therefore they won't fix
5 something with the steering they replaced the lower ball joint and font knuckle
6. my cv boot is being replaced
7.... i know there is more i just cant think
anyhow i don't know whats gone wrong with your car but i have a lawyer and we are in the process of filing a lemon lawsuit so i'll let you know how it goes but all states have different lemon laws so you will have to look into what your states are.
