The A3 actually isn't all THAT small. Pretty close in size to the A4, IMO. Not a bad little car. I'd go to your local Audi dealership when you get a chance, and check them out.

I think that I might get an AWD vehicle even if I don't end up moving to Colorado.

I wouldn't mind chipping it, but thats about it. Not really looking at buying an upto $40k car to modify, I have the civic for that

I understand where your coming from with the boy racer look of the evo and sti.
totally understandable, same thing happend with a good friend of my dad. He was hesitant at first to trade in his bmw for a new EVO MR. And now he says its the best thing hes ever done. IMHO i dont care if i get flamed but for under 40k i think the EVO is the best designed car ever made. (FOR UNDER 40K OFCORSE)
