Rep Power: 293 Under $40k AWD vehicles...
There is a good chance that I am going to move to Colorado this summer. I figure, if I live in a state that has snowy weather for a good chunk of the year, why not have an AWD vehicle.
What is a good list of vehicles for under $40k (consider features also, $40k base price probably won't fly if the loaded version is $50k).
Cars and SUV's welcome (NO WRX or EVO!!!!)

Rep Power: 293 The Volvo is AWD? Never knew that, I actually like that car a lot.
Forgot about the Legacy also, really classy looking but not break the bank price.
No 3 series, I don't really like these cars, I don't feel they are worth the price.
Thanks for those suggestions, definately gotta research the Volvo

Rep Power: 0 audi a4 turbo, OMG! love it! my best friend has one and it is AMAZING in icy/snowy/wet conditions, I'm talking AMAZING!!!! This this ascends/descends icy hills, big hills, better than my blazer, better than I could walk up/down it. not to mention it's a turbo... for when you got some dry weather, handels very well too! I don't know about new models as for prices, but a 2001+ are GREAT cars and good prices too

Rep Power: 293 I looked into Audi, the A4 is definately on my list. I would buy new if I bought one, I would just have to get over some of the features (I priced one out at $40k exact).
Audi A4 2.0T is definately on the list, I really like this car.

Rep Power: 293 Those Mazda's are nice, 280hp version of a 6 would be so fun. I think they are out, but if its like any other MazdaSpeed, they probably won't last very long at the dealerships.

Rep Power: 304 My dealer has 4 mazdaspeed 6's available and they're pretty cheap fully loaded...about 34K.
I was looking at IS's a few weeks ago, and the only trim that offers AWD is the IS250 and it's really underpowered...
The IS350 is nice, with RWD and 300 hp but it's easily over 40 reasonably equipped. And good luck getting the dealer to budge on them mine wouldn't.
How about the Saab? I think it's the Saab 93 or 96 or something like that? It's a WRX with class. Same car, different body. They call it the Saabaru.

Rep Power: 0 My first choice would be the 2006 Legacy GT, at $28,000 it's cheaper than the Audi, Lexus or Infiniti and more reliable, safe, mod-friendly and cheap on insurance too.
The only Saabs with AWD are the 9-2x(WRX Wagon aka Saabaru) and the 9-7x, Saab's new SUV. I like the new 9-3 Sport Sedan, but it's FWD.
The Mazdaspeed 6 would be a good option too.

For SUVs your choices are more or less endless, I don't know how much the MDX goes for down there, but give it a try, we've had one over here since I -think- '02 and its had no problems to date at all, great engine, nice and smooth, nice interior.

Rep Power: 293 All good suggestions so far. I am really liking the G35x AWD, really nice for the money when compared to the A4, and if I don't end up moving to Colorado, I can still get the non AWD version Either way, a new car is coming this summer.

Rep Power: 350 I drove a Mercury Mountaineer for a while when i worked at a dealership, and the AWD system in those is really nice. The looks on the otherhand is something else to be reckoned with lol.

And by the way... Toyota is going to develop a car, don't know which, which will utilize Fuji Heavy's AWD system... rockin'!

Rep Power: 293 They are nice cars, but the WRX and EVO carry too much of that ricer image, and even though they are fast, they still aren't what I would consider a quality car like an Audi or Lexus.

Rep Power: 293 I wonder how small the A3 is in comparison to the A4, having a wagon/hatch vehicle might be nice if there is room for junk in the trunk
