How much water can Civic door panel withstand/ water leaking from door frame

as i was getting into my car this afternoon, there was a huge downpour and the rain drops were real big. so i opened the driver door and got in as fast as i could, but the inside of the door still got pretty wet. how much can the "window control" panel in the door handle before it becomes disfunctional?

EDIT: Dragon asks the question of the door frame leak farther down.

I'm pritty sure hes was joking.

It should be fine just as long as you just don't let your door stand open for too long, like longer than a few minutes.

ahaha yea i got the joke, so i made a counter-joke.

yea that's what i figured, not more than a couple min. but my dad's 94 nissan maxima's door was in the rain because he lowered his window to order something through a drivethrough and by the time he was done, the window controller was messed up and wouldn't work well. it would push the window up alil bit but you'd have to help it to go all the way.

yea that's a plus about driving a manual. only 1 of my other friends can drive a manual, so people can't borrow it or anything. plus i have the power of "NO!" yea man that sucks. does it still work ok? or did it not get into the controls.

Worst case, just let the door dry out. It'll work again.

Im gonna side track this a lil bit if you dont mind, but when you guys open the doors of your vic, does the water drip onto the seat when its raining? Everytime it rains, when I open the doors water would run down from the roof of the door frame and drip onto the seat and have a couple of dropets dangling on the plastic piece on the headlinger.

The switches should be o.k. I try to keep mine dry when possible (but have also left the window open slightly while parked and soaked them)

On my sedan, opening the window will get you soaked worse than opening the door.

K, I finally took some pics, not the best quality but the red arrow points at the plastic trim where the water drips down from whenever I open the door when it rains outside. On Saturday when helping my cousin pick up his Mazada6, I notice that the Mazada6's have a weatherstrip on both sides of the door and body frame, and my civic only has it on the door (second pic), could this be the problem?
