Goof in the fast and the furious
Ahem.....
Nitrous doesn't just give you more power because its an oxidizer....
the real power comes from the fact that when nitrous changes from a liquid to a gas it requires heat, cooling down the incoming air, and basically cooling the whole charge in the cylinder. Because gas is more dense when it is colder, you can put more into the cylinder. This is why Nitrous is lumped with Super and Turbo Chargers, they all make power through forced induction.
The oxidizer benefits are there but not nearly as powerful as the temp.

ummm, no. people with forced induction use N20 for several reasons. First is if you have a large turbo (this is common in drag supras) you use the N20 to pre spool it as to help defeat turbo lag. They also use it to help cool in intake charge, however this is only a secondary reason for use. The other reasons for using it with FI is to make you car faster obviously, and some people prefer to purge onto intercoolers and what not, again to cool the charge air.
