What about other cars, as far as you know, miatas for example?
the S2000's built in roll bars and reinforced a-pillar is actually strong enough to be considered an acceptable "roll cage" by NASA and a couple other auto racing associations.

in fact, honda did their own testing and reinforced the a-pillar (the part that surrounds the windshield) and the roll bars, and made sure it could withstand such things.

there have been many testaments to this on s2ki, including a gentleman who wrote a thank you to honda for saving his son's life by overengineering the safety in the car. his son and his friend lost control on a canyon road and the car went over the side.... a 220 foot slope/drop to the bottom. the car rolled the whole way down and then landed upside down. they both walked out with barely a scratch.

another guy was driving on the freeway and a large object flew off a truck. he hit it, spinning him sideways, and off the road where he started to roll at about 65mph. he rolled over probably 11 times and the car landed upside down. when he got out of the car, everyone running up to him was amazed he was even alive, much less he had not even a scratch on him.

this car is safer than most cars on the road. small as it is, it's got a very solid passenger compartment. there was even a girl driving, with her boyfriend in the passenger seat. she lost control in the rain, spun, and a semi slammed into the passenger side at full force as she was spinning across the lanes. the semi driver was certain he'd killed the passenger when he hit them. not so. her boyfriend easily got out the driver's side after they had stopped. the car took the full force of a direct t-bone impact of a semi, and saved the passenger's life.
