Rep Power: 0 Manual window regulator
I've decided I will finally do something about the window regulator on the driver's side. For years it's always been a PITA to roll down the driver's side window. Basically, you can't just crank continuously. You turn the handle a bit, then back it off, then advance some more, back it off, etc. If you try to just crank non-stop you will break the handle, which I did do once several years ago. Got a replacement from a wrecking yard. So now if anyone pays enough attention, they would notice the handles aren't the same colour.
I've seen the videos and it seems the regulator is straightforward to replace. BUT, I thought I would try to have a look at it before ordering anything. Is it worth just spraying some silicone spray down the vertical channels? Looking at the pic of the regulator it looks like the linkages of the regulator slide along a track at the bottom of the window (scissor lift style) and I suspect that would need lubing as well.
Mine is a coupe, I have noticed there are distinct parts for coupe vs sedan. Probably because door and glass are longer than on sedan.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Glass dragging in the rubber channel seals causes problems.
