Question about extended waranty?
Ok my mom got this deal with the honda dealer for 6yrs/100,00 miles for about $1200 extra, my question is this really worth it because im planning on doin stuff to my car and i was wondering if the things that im gonna do to my car will void the warranty. Things i plan on doing is the basic I/H/E and suspension work and other stuff that comes to my head. I dont wanna let those $1200 go down the drain because of one mod that will void my warranty. So what do u guys think huh? I could still cancel this if i want, this is why im asking. Thanks
i myself would cancel it... just for the simple fact that say you do have your car for six years ... don't yu wanna have it paid off asap? another 1200 dollars is just longer you have to pay... but if you were to trade your car in before the warranty i up you'd get moneyback if the new cardealer paid of your car... but i guess its personal preference. but thats just my opinion..

i got the 7yr/100,000mi ext warranty on my coupe, and damn am i glad i did! i am almost past the normal 3yr/36,000mi warranty mileage!
if you plan to drive your car alot, and put lots of mileage on it, you might want to consider the ext warranty...

You can do MUCH better than this price, without haggling.
If you already purchased it, I *believe* you can cancel it and purchase it from another dealer
for less.
Remember:
You DO NOT have to buy the Honda Care Warranty from the dealer where you bought your car.
You DO NOT have to buy the Honda Care Warranty at the time of delivery.
I purchased my Honda Care Warranty from Alton Blakely Honda in Kentucky (I live in Florida).
I purchased my Honda Care Warranty 1 year after I purchased my Honda Odyssey.
Here is a post from the "Business Manager" there. Her name is Tracy.
I suggest you contact her. The process was painless.

I purchased the 7/100,000/0 deductible plan for $915. There was a $40 surcharge since my
Odyssey was already over 1 year old.
I am not affiliated with this dealer (or any dealer) in any way other than a satisfied customer.
As far as your concern for the modifications, depending on what you do with your car, you should be ok. If the problem is not a result of your modification, the warranty should be honored.
Good luck!

I got the 7 year/100,000 mile warranty. I'm sure I will hit the 100,000 mile before the 7 years. I drive a lot. I am planning on trading it in before that though so who knows. Its there if I need it. I plan on adding i/h/e, but that will only void the warranty on those parts. I am mostly worried about the engine and tranny. as long as those are still covered, I am cool. I can handle the cost on anything else.
They didn't trick you, you just didn't pay attention to the salesman and he sold you. The dealer in Wisconsin wanted a $100 bucks a month for 1yr of extended warranty for 4 years.
over $4000. I told him to shuve it.

B/S...By buying the policy, they lowered my interest rate which made the monthly payments less (which is better for me) Otherwise I'd be paying an ugly 9.9% rate.
