miles per tank
whats the average you guys get for the miles per tank. my best so far was 355 and thats really crappy but i think casue the engine is still 3 weeks old, thats why???
I'm getting about that much, give or take 20 miles. I do mostly short-travel driving at speed, mixed with a little bit of stop-and-go city driving, and an occassional road trip. I'm very happy with it

<< about 24 MPG

. I do mostly city driving, but still that's pretty low. about to get my THIRD oil change. 9,500 miles. >>that number seems way too low, are you dividing by 13.2 or the number of gallons you put in?
i just got 443.4 miles on my last tank, 12.25 gallons (36mpg) 5-speed ex coupe
I never let my tank go below 1/4 full so I have never seen how far I can get on a single tank of gas. However, I calculate my gas mileage religiously, so from that I can estimate my miles per tank.
In the wintertime I'm averaging 32 mpg and in the summer I'm averaging 36 mpg (this is from mostly city driving in my HX CVT).
32 mpg x 13.2 gallons/tank = 422 miles/tank
36 mpg x 13.2 gallons/tank = 475 miles/tank
I think Aseras is the winner in this category. Those HX 5-speeds get ridiculously good mileage.

You all suck!!!!!!!! I am now keeping a spead sheet of my gas mileage. The dealer thinks there is nothing wrong with my car. My last gas tank was 23.58 Miles per gallon. I have a stock automatic EX coupe. 85% city driving. regular 87 octane gas. I now have 8300 miles. It has been cold, but I never got the greatest gas mileage I should be getting with a Civic. The sticker says 31 city-38 highway.
city driving is the worst man........... u get better gas mileage when you drive slow
and for a longtime....... constantly.........
DO yall know u loose the most gas when you come to a stop light or when you stop with
your car on.......... yall didn't know that did ya. hahahhha i learned it in school. Driver's ED.

Actually....
You get the best gas mileage when you're driving somewhere between 40-60 mph (I don't know the numbers for our Civics). At slow speeds, you get poor mileage because of the friction of the tires with the road. The faster you go the less of a role friction plays. So going 25 mph isn't going to help you (unless you have a lean burn engine like me
). Of course going very fast is going to burn fuel up a lot quicker. So it's good to find a happy medium somewhere and avoid hard braking or rapid accelerations. Also, it makes lots of sense that you get poor mileage when you stop a lot or let the engine run. You're going zero miles and you're still burning fuel (which means you're getting 0 mpg when you're stopped).
Alright, enough of my rambling (for now).

Keeping a spreadsheet is a good idea. I do that too. I plot up my mileage so that I can spot trends related to seasons or changes in gasoline brands. From my plot you can see that I average better mileage in the summer and lower mileage in the winter months. I've stuck primarily with Mobil (87 octane) and my driving is 90% city. I'm switching from Mobil to Texaco to see if that has an effect on the trend of my gas mileage.

I get crappy gas mileage... My light usually goes on around 300 miles +/-25.. then again I guess I drive like a bat out of hell on the freeways,. and I'm sure that with all the hills and winding roads I have to drive in D3 doesn't help my mileage either..

I just put in the number. Brill sent it to me. You put in the Miles driven, and how many gallons pumped, and if figures it out for you. Very nice Brill. I never really learned how to use a speadsheet, so this is nice. Oh and he also did it so it has seperate columns for Miles, and one for Kilometers.
I see people calculating miles/tank and miles/gallon, but how about miles/dollar? That way you can literally see how far you can stretch a dollar (well, close to literally). With gas prices moderately low and my mileage relatively high, I am able to go 25-30 miles per one dollar. In the summer my gas mileage was much better but prices were a lot higher so I was actually getting fewer miles out of every dollar than I am now. Just curious if anyone thought of doing a calculation like this.
