then you lost potentially 5 sales. if you said no to me i would go to another honda dealership buy one and drive it up to you and tell you to bite me. it would definitley be your loss. but only if you turned me away. why the hell do i pay $306/month for full coverage, $1000 deductible on my 2005 civic dx? I have clean record, nothing at all. I'm 20 and I live in AZ just north of the border. Geico was the lowest I found with $306. Most others, including allstate were upwards of $400 even up to $500. The temporary insuraces I got when I bough my vehicle wanted about $250 for a 21-day temporary insurance, and then about $700 for the next month. This is bullshit, I pay more for my little 4 cylinder than other dudes same age as me do with their camaros and mustangs.
My insurance just went down to $100 a month
.
2003 Honda Civic Ex Coupe, 5-spd.
$100 deductible, full coverage, heck yes.

This very true. I have driven somewhere in the area of about 30 S2000's and I can honestly say they are an awesome machine.
And I just did a quick check on Progressive.com
Same everything(2002 Model Honda Civic EX Coupe and a 2002 S2000), the S2000 is 700 dollars more when you pay in full.
And here is why...

" Many think that it is due to safety concerns that convertibles are more expensive to insure. While it is true that convertibles generally do carry higher insurance premiums, it’s not for safety reasons."
There it is right there.
I've got more than my fair share of accidents and tickets and I'm in one of the highest-paying provinces in Canada insofar as insurance is concerned. The way I get out of it is having my car insured as a company car. If you have your own business, or one of your parents does, insure the car w. the business as a company car, your rates will drop signifigantly. Some companies do make you keep logs though of travel to ensure that its being used for business purposes, which, much of the time, in my case, it is.

omg, they are raping you. call your insurance agent and tell him to keep dreaming about that 700 bucks. look i have 3 cars insured. all under allstate. i obviously get a discount because me and my dad and sister are all under the same plan. and besides i have been under the policy scince i have been 15. my tickets were 3.5 years ago when i was 16/17 same with the fender bender. my dad has to pay a crap load for his 97 maxima that he bought. heres why i pay little, its an ex so it has ABS. i bought it used but it came with front air bags and side air bags too. its a stick so that helps. its silver so that helped. the coupe part did not help. our car is not considered a sports car. its a sub-compact. the s2000 is a roadster, and yeah it is safer than a civic. i live in georgia, maybe thats why its so cheap, but there are wrecks here all the time. tell your agent to do something about it. thats his job. its what he does. think about it like this, i pay 100, he might get 20 of that a month, you pay 700, he pulls at least 50. tell him to do something or youll leave.Originally Posted by invrtdsa1nt

I just went to geico and they told me what it would be, there was no negotiating. I figure they would just say it's out of their hands, and the company gives the prices.
my si cost 3500 a year
my 350z was 3000 a year
my s2k is 3200 a year
my 350z was 3000 a year

i pay 400 a month. for full coverage. one weekend when i was a senior in highschool i flipped 2 of my parents cars in 1 weekend. they told me if i bought a g35 it would be the same price as my 01 civic lx because they are banking on me crashing in to a g35 already.
o yeah i live in california too. that has alot to do with prices. there are insurance companys that wont start new policies in ca
ok,
does any of you call the insurance company every year to ask possibility of reducing price?
I assume they won't reduce the price for you if you don't ask.

My point is that other factors weigh more heavily than the fact that it's a convertible. I should not have made it sound like it didn't matter at all. Originally Posted by Mike4831

lol, insurance agents can just charge whatever over the base rate they want. it gives them more commission. geico is the same way, even though they say there are no "agents", those people work off commission too.Originally Posted by invrtdsa1nt
