depends on how much your insurance company wants to charge you.
i have american family, and my insurance (when i was 23 single male) went from $85 a month for the civic to $95 a month for the S2000.

thats crazy i pay 303 a month
i work at allstate insurance and to let you know, it depends on so many factors. . .
atleast for my company, it depends on age, marital status, location, driving record, and experience.
if you are under 25 and not married, best advice is to put it under your parents name for a better rate if it qualifies you too. discounts also could apply . . .
if you have a points, the more you will pay. (the same with dui, licence suspension, lapse, etc . . .) there is this one client we insure with 24+ points on insurance and he is paying over 8g's for an early 90 mazda with only liability.
good luck

was the accident your fault and claim put in? i'm pretty sure once it renews you'll get hit hard. 100 a month is mad cheap even with a clean record. but again it all depends on location too . .. jersey is one of the most expensive state for auto insurance in the whole u.s. but one of the greatest for home and life . . .

i love the suspicious looks. its so funny
I find it hard to believe that some of you actually pay that. First off it is a Honda, that means you have to pay higher insurance just because the average age of the driver is under 25. Second it is a convertable, that automatically means that your insurance is expensive. I worked at Honda and I can say for a fact that we never sold an S2000 to anyone under 30. This was mostly due to higher insurance. Just my two cents.

i don't know about you, but any idiot at any dealership will sell anything to a 13 year old if he had enough money to buy an s2k. its called commission. if you worked there you should know that. maybe you didn't sell one to a 20 year old but someone that worked with you was thinking 'i am so getting paid by this moron.' yeah. a dealer would not give a crap about the persons insurance rates as long as they get paid, then its the loaning banks problem and not the dealership.

We have probably 5 kids try to test drive an S2000 everyday. And the salesmen just laugh and tell them no way.

then you lost potentially 5 sales. if you said no to me i would go to another honda dealership buy one and drive it up to you and tell you to bite me. it would definitley be your loss. but only if you turned me away.
I just want to know something-Do you guys like getting Azz raped?State Farm and Allstate Ins.are the highest priced companies out there.I have 21st century and pay about 2000/yr and thats on two vehicles. My advice is to change policy holders.

I have State Farm and wouldn't have anything else. You get what you pay for.

I'm sure it'll be a LOT more than Civic for sure
I'm paying 180 a month for my Civic w/ 1k deductable
I think that's too much...
....also, I can prolly afford a 20g s2k but I cannot afford insurance so i'm sticking with my Civic for couple more years...
oh btw i'm 20...

convertible doesn't matter that much. the factors that determine a car's rating are cost to repair, theft rate, accident rate, driver demographic (of which is NOT people UNDER 25), income of driver demographic, engine size, chassis (2dr or 4dr), FI or n/a, safety ratings, collision ratings, etc. some of these will or won't be looked at, depending on what company you are with, but that's just to determine the CAR's insurance category.
THEN they factor in driver.
the S2000 does NOT have high insurance, unless your insurance company wants to rape you, or you have **** on your record. again, I was single, 23 years old, and paying $95 a month for full coverage with 500/100 deductibles. how is that high insurance? the S2000 does not have a high claim rate, and it's intended driver demographic is a low-risk group, and it's cost to repair is not much higher than a civic. it also actually has BETTER safety ratings than the civic.
