I have an auto and it seems ever since I followed the DIY adjust the throttle it hasn't been riding as well. The gears are holding out as much and it seems to drag now. It doesn't seem as fast as it was. Maybe I did it wrong. I think I might just change it back. Have a lot of people on here adjusted it?
I adjustaed mine, and it seems like there is better throttle response.....but sometimes it does seem that the gears hold out more...
but I don't think that is the throttle cable, I think it's just the ECU stretching the gears out.

I HAVE A PROBLEM ! I ADJUSTED MY THROTTLE ABOUT A MONTH - MONTH AND A HALF AGO AND IT WUZ ALL GOOD WHEN IFIRSDID IT ! BUT NOW MY IDLE IS DROPPING DOWN TO LKE 500-600 RPMS AND I NEVER LOOSENED THA CABE BAK TO NORMAL ! SO I WENT AND TIGHTENED IT SOME MORE AND NO CHANGE ! NOW IM ALL THA WAY TIGHT AND STILL NO CHANGE ! HEEEEEEEEELP !
BY THA WAY, I DONT EVEN THINK HIS HELPED MY CAR OUT, NOW I REGRET DOIN' IT ! I WOULD JUSS LEAVE IT HOW IT IS ! THA IMPROVMENT ISNT REALY WORTH RISKIN' FU*KIN UP YOUR CAR !

I would agree, this "mod" is crap. Don't run the risk of doing some damage to your car just b/c someone one the site claims that it "seems" to help on your takeoff.

Wow, how could you mess up something so simple? I have a manual LX and before reading the other posts I would have recommended it to everyone considering how simple and quick it was.
I'm just a girl, and I have never messed around with the throttle. But I have advanced the timing on my car. It is a remarkable difference. I think you guys need to be burning a higher octane gasoline. That could be why your idle is dropping off to the point where your car is about to stall. When I first did it, I didn't have a timing gun. I just turned on my car and waited till it was warm and then I eyeballed it. My car sputtered for about three days. My buddy told me to put a higher octane in, and that almost completely fixed the problem. Later I got a timing gun and tuned it down a little bit. Now My car runs SUPER sweet. Although I pay more for premium gasoline, I get MUCH MUCH better gas milage. I don't know though. Let me know guys!

I adjusted my throttle cable, It didnt seem to do much! I get a little better responce when I hit the gas! My car idles just fine, I did it about a week ago, actually seem a tad bit faster, tighter acceleration, or maybe its all just mental masturbation! My advice... ...well i did it and didnt have a prob, of course i only turned the nut one full turn and left some slack still! There still slack but not as much! Some more advice if you do decide to do it dont make it butt tight! Just take out a little slack on it you should be fine!
I adjusted the throttle on my 2002 EX Manual. Made a big difference on mine. All I did was as is stated before, took out the gap. I did not up the idle or tighten passed the gap. I find that the takeoff is much smoother and faster revving. Good luck.....

this WILL NOT MAKE YOUR CAR FASTER. it MIGHT increast throttle response, and its easy to do, plus its free, but dont expect anything from it.
