So, yeah, in 04-05 ones it won't work, cuz they've got a chip of some sort inserted into them, donno 01-03...

At least that's what the manual says...

why did you bring up this thread?

and yes, the 01-05 civics all have the "chip" inside the key. it doesn't prevent people from stealing your car, though.
