how often do you guys usually do yours. i understand, that whenever it needs, but i just need an average number...at least once a year?

debating on whether i should get the life-time from firestone, or not...

i work for pep boys, we reccommend getting wheel alignments every time you get a new set of tires. unless you hit somthing and set your alignment out of whack, they can be good for a while, obviously, the more often you have the alignement checked the better off, its just a preventive maintence thing, keeps your tires and suspension parts from getting unnessicary wear if you keep everything straight and lined up right.
