2 cycle

Although most lawnmower engines are 4 cycle. I have a V2 in mine.

A funny side note though, my V2 lawnmower has 16 hp while my inline 4 tractor only has 20 hp and 4 times the displacement.

I wish I had a car that ran 2 cycle (not that it would ever pass emmisions testing), but it would be fun.

yeah i worded that funny. the computer knows that proper oil pressure cannot be maintained because that's the way honda designed it. it will not allow for engagement of the hi cam, and will force a premature rev limiter when the engine is below a certain temperature.

i took a video of me doing it on my S2k on my phone, but dont know how to post it. but i start it cold (1 temp bar) and floor it. and WHAM. 6000rpm i hit a rev limiter like no tomorrow. it was like that in my old civic Si too.

thegent is an unknown quantity at this point
at least in sportbikes
Honda's CBR1000 11,650-rpm redline
Yamaha R1 13,750 rpm redline
Suzuki GSXr-750 14,000 rpm redline

Clear example that not all Hondas are made for high revs.

"honda is an engine company, so to say that hondas are made to rev high, would be correct"

Microsoft is a software company, so to say that every single product they make is of the highest quality possible in the market is correct.

I took my car to Gravity Hill last night, and my car got stuck in mud. I just kept spinning tires and what not for like 10 minutes. At one point, I just floored it and the tach needle kept bouncing and my car would shake....my car is still there by the way, I couldnt get it out.

um... How is 11,650 RPMs not high?
BTW, the CBR 600 Redlines at 14,200 RPM's....

and if you do more research you'll notice that most higher displacement sport bikes have lower Redlines. then their smaller displacement counterparts.

i never said "honda is an engine company, therefore makes the best engines with the best quality". your analogy is quite inaccurate.

honda is an engine company. they sell over 60 billion engines worldwide every year. the most of any motor company in the world. honda makes their engines to their specifications, and makes the engines be able to perform in the aspect is was created. if a honda engine has an 8000rpm redline, you can rev it to 8000rpm all you want, because it was designed that way.

so maybe saying "hondas are made to rev high" is in a gray area, since "revving high" is a relative term. however, you can redline your honda engine to whatever your redline is, because that's what it was made to do and to withstand.

for example, on my car, if it's cold and my temp gauge is low, i'll hit a rev limiter at 6000rpm.
last night this happened to me actually.. not only did it happen to me, it occurred while i was racing and id been driving for bout 30 mins by this time..odd.. all ofa sudden as i push it into third, the rev limiter kicks in right around where the VTEC kicks in and bounced my car down.. scared my girlfriend.. freaked me out.. but sall good now

check your oil level on your car. after 30 mins of driving this shouldn't happen unless something is wrong or you are low on oil.

Yeah I tried this right when i got my car, threw it into nuetral and floored it to see where the rev limiter kicks in, kept bouncing off the 5100 mark, never knew that this applied to cold engines, i'll have to try it whenever its warm...also some guy on here told me to redline your car while driving it, you have to mash the gas when you're at 4k RPMS...he was definatly right...i started out flooring it, and it cuts out about 700-800 rpms before redline and shifts, but if i go half throttle and get up to 4, then mash the gas to the floor i go all the way to redline...and i know most of you guys don't care about this info, but its little pleasures for us who drive auto's...lol

You bounce 2nd gear in an auto? I hope you are putting the car into the 2 postion and manually shifting it or something.
