Official: 8th gen civic thread (UPDATES on first post)
All it needs is to be geared like the new RSX Type S and be a little lighter and you got a winner.
My Type S is dead, lol. I was going to trade my car for an EVO or something in that caliber but now that my RSX will no longer be around, I'm just going to keep it since you won't see it anymore, lol. But damn is that Civic FAWKING HAWT!! Kinda tempted to trade, but I still want to hear what it can do at the track first. I bet you there will be a HUGE @SS markup when it hits dealers. Not only that, it'll be like the 2000's Si's where you will have a long *** waiting line for it.

OH man!! I bet by the time this car is realeased, there will be already many performance parts available.
On another note, Is it me or on the side shot, did you guys notice how much it resembles an accord from the door to the back of the car?

The car will debut at Sema so you can bet more than a dozen heavily modded 8th gens at the show at sema with parts all available at launch.

Only time will tell... I hope the sedan has as much potential as this concept in the coupe has. Patients is a vitue and well... I'm still working on that, but I can't wait to drive one of these. I was considering a TSX, but think I might wait another year and see what the future for the Civic brings!!!

Its not coming with brembos, or a black hood, or a glass roof or the slight fender trim. all of that is add ons. but even withhout all this, it will still comand 19-21k.
The scion is the better value in my opionion. But the Si is sweet.

like matt said, brembos will be options that will probably be like $2,000 and maybe even the carbon hood. only thing that I'm not happy with is that it wont be out till November, I doubt that I can wait that long. but it looks very nice and I'd ****** one up in sec if I saw one at my dealer.
Sometimes, I can see right through myself ...

well i love this concept car except for one thing. the *** is too high in the air kinda like a neon. front looks nice and aggressive but the *** does not compare to our 7thgen asses.

TOV (vtec.net) has excellent coverage of the show and the Si Concept. According to the Honda reps they talked to that wing will be on the car, but it will not be mounted as high. The wheels will not be 18's but 17's. The chassis is all-new. The 200hp, 6-speed, and LSD are all confirmed for production. Unlike this concept the production modle will have door handles and will not have the center-exit exhaust.

probably a safety thing anyway that they need to have standard door handles. is toyota scared? tC vs Si, xA/xB vs Fit. Fit was the best selling car in Japan and Car of the Year in 02, while the Civic is the best selling compact car in the US. Will Honda be able to slay Goliath (toyota) in the compact segment? haha.

well looks like i was right, SI gets the RSX-S motor. More than likely the base models will get some variation of the K20a3.
I'm really surprised they put a LSD in it, even the RSX-S doesn't have one, honda is deffiently saying something.....
I think its really good looking. You gotta figure the black hood, blacked out lights, wing and probably 17s instead of 18s will be on the production version. But that thing is damn good looking.
