Angry Bad dealership experience, what a bunch of putz's....Milwaukee, WI

As some of you know I have this rear suspension noise on a 2005 Civic that they basically did the rear deck noise fix on, adjusted the trunk (which I already had done) and told me that was the problem, which is was not and it still does it....idiots http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=185391

Now if that wasn't enough, I also had it in for a door latch problem, as it makes this extra click noise like something is hitting the door itself, well they ordered a new door latch and I had it installed last night while I waited. The problem seemed to have went away, but in the process they screwed up something else. The bottom door panel was sticking out 1/4" or so all along the bottom. I looked at it more closely and saw that none of the white "plugs" are actually pushed in. I looked closer at the one furthest from the hinge and this one was all mushroomed over and not correctly put in place. The next two were not even pushed in and the one closest to the hinge was actually still stuck in the door. I then layed on my back and looked up at it and noticed that the part of the door panel that was supposed to hold this plug in was actually gone!! Whoever worked on my car actually BROKE my freakin' door panel.

I thought these monkeys are supposed to be factory trained? Is this how Honda trains their service people?

I called the service manager and left him a couple voicemails (ran out of time on the first one) because he was gone for the day. He better return my phone call or I will get even more riled up.

I am starting to think I should take apart my rear deck to see what else they broke in the process of taking that apart to "fix" something that was not even the problem.

The dealership is Schlossman's Honda City in Milwaukee, WI <----- stay away!!!!!!!!!

Paul

It's under warrantee, but what's the point in a warrantee if they can't fix things right or correctly diagnose problems.

hey man,

i ended up brining mine to honda today aswell.............they didnt do S**T ALL............everything i brought it in for they told me they couldnt hear it and I went i pulled outta the parking lot i heard all the noises I was complaining about

and like you they only did the rear deck thing and the tech guy had the nerve to ask me if i pulled the complaints off a TSB website or something

terrible service, next time i bring it in, i will have to waste my time and personally take the road test and point out how my car is a rattle machine..........and straight up ask the guy why they fail to hear anything!!!!!

so needless to say, according to them, the rear shock noise doesnt exisit and there is nothing wrong

WOW!! Isn't that basically admitting that there is a problem with them then if he KNOWS there were TSB's out? How could one pull them off of a TSB site if there were no TSB's for a certain problem

well, that's what I did. I had one of the monkeys come with me first and listen. I know he heard it but wanted the service guy to ride with me. Well then the service manager rode with and he heard it and said they would look at it. Didn't do any good.

I decided to look further into this botched dealer install of my door panel and found a couple more disturbing things. First of all, the screw under that little "flap" thing that helps hold the plastic piece (the piece that holds the power window switch) of the armrest to the rest of the door panel, was loose. I removed that screw and removed that piece. Then I found out that the metal clip on the very top of this plastic piece that helps hold it to the panel was missing, thankfully I found this stuck down in between the door and door panel. Then there are two larger screws that hold the door panel itself to the door. Well, one of them was loose as can be and the other was actually tight. I just can't believe somebody would not attach the whole bottom of the door panel correctly and in the process BREAK part of the panel, then missplace of the clips and not tighten two of the screws that hold the panel on. All this from something as simple as installing a door panel. Can you just imagine what would happen if they had to do something major....damn, the car would never run again.......

I also talked to the service manager. I had to call him back as he never did return my call and told me that he "just" heard my message . As soon as I told him who I was I could tell he did not want to be talking to me. I told him that they taking the car and I DO NOT want it back until things are corrected. I have to drop the car off Monday after work. I also will not be just picking up the car when they say it's "fixed". I will be picking the car up when the service manager is there and him and I will be going for a little test drive together to confirm things were done and done right. I may also be bringing my own tool kit to take apart a couple things on the door panel while he is there to verify things were installed correctly and nothing is broken.

freaking unbelieveable

Paul

so any updates?

i brought mine back in and they replaced the rear strut....the noise is still there....so thats not it....

honestly if an integra was available that fit my criteria, i would have bought it instead of the civic.......its not worth it if i sell this car right now, but im pissed at the quality

i have this door panel buzz that wont go away, ive been to the dealer 3 times about it and no fix.........stupid cheap car!

nope, I am done dealing with that dealer and when the temps get to around 40-45F the noise goes away. I wonder what it is then? Well, at least we know it's not a strut...lol That's the only complaint I have about the car so far, otherwise it's pretty much noise free. I have 6,100 miles on it now and have had it for 2 months. That noise does drive me up a wall, but I am not going to have the dealer screw something else up in the process of trying to find it, then I will have to get after them to fix more things.

They also never did replace my door panel, even though they broke part of it. Granted, you can't see it at all, but the point is that they cracked it so they should replace it. The service manager told me that the tech told him it was not broke (of course he will say that as he doesn't want to get in trouble)

the buzz you are hearing, does it do it with the music??

music starts it going but once it gets going even bumps will cause it to buzz......its so damn annoying

its worse than that noise coming from ther rear because the rear noise only happens on super bumpy roads, ie. near my house where the road is partially hard-packed snow covered.
