I've always taken it to the dealer for 5w20. You could also put synthetic from now on.

dont have a gas station change it, go to a repudible shop or the dealer. Or do it yourself and put synthetic in there and pay the same price as a regular oil change somewhere.

Don't cheap out on a new car. Go somewhere that will use good a good oil/filter. Or do it yourself. Although its a ripoff, I go to the dealer to get my service done. I figure the guys that see the same car 10 times a day probably know all the quirks and will be the best at doing any service or repairs. Any good shop will do though.

Only reason I goto honda is the filter and I know it's done right. And I can't change it in the parking lot here.

3,000 miles is a little early for an oil change, do you do a lot of stop and go driving or something?

dont go to gas stations unless thats the ONLY choice.... they dont do a good job (ie, no filter change, dont drain all the oil out), and they might may you pay more for 5W20 b/c not many cars use that oil.

id go with 5w30..thats what i use... and interetingly i noticed in our manuals it says to change oil every 5k miles. if you use synthetic it is suppose to last longer so what you do is just check it every 500 miles or so after three thousand and when it starts to look like it needs to be changed you know how long it lasts in ur car. go with royal purple from what i hear its an amazing oil

oh yea never go to a gas station... my dad owns a garage and his customers have gone to gas stations for oil changes if were to busy and sometimes they dont change the filter at all they almost never change the drain plug gasket and who knows if they even use new or good oil...its really not something to mess with because its so important to your car but these gas stations dont care for wuteva reason

No no no. You do not need to run 30 weight in the summer. You engine was designed to use 20 weight. It is thinner for a reason. Why are so many people confused about oil? There are other threads on this, read up.

Yeah go with the 5K intervals. No need for every 3,000. Its just a waste. Engines and oils are better than they were in the old days. The 3000 thing is now a myth that has been carried over by owners of older cars.

yea, our cars are safe up to 8000 Miles. Although I change my oil at 5000 miles. Newer car's can retain oil longer.

I change oil myself every 5k miles and use Mobil 0W20. I actually think it may be cheaper to take it to the delearship then to do it myself. However there's no fun in taking it to someone else. ;-)

yes yes. 3K is just throwing money down the drain. You will be protected just fine for 5k.
