Accord Coupe LX or Base RSX?
Accord Coupe LX or Base RSX?
Of the two, which I am considering, which would be the better choice. With the Accord, you would get a larger car, probably would cost a little less, but have a lot of the same features as the RSX. With the RSX, well it is an Acura, the build quality is purportedly better, which makes sense since it is made in Japan, and probably has more standard features, (better stereo) than the Accord. Both have 160 hp engines I believe. As much as I am pulled to the RSX, the Accord seems like it might be more practical. I think parts are much easier to get for the Accord than RSX. Also, the Accord is less of a theft target than the RSX. ???
RSX weights 2809 lbs.
2004-5 Accord Coupe weighs 2994 for the manual.
Both are rated at 160 HP, but I'd be willing to bet the RSX has more aggressive gearing provided the nature of the car. They're both FWD, but the RSX has one of the most refined FWD chassis on the market. Plus your suspension is going to be alot tighter.
If you want something sporty and drives as such, get the RSX. The Accord is bigger and might be more accomodating on the inside, so just choose what you want according to what is important to you.
My uncle has a V6 Accord coupe with what--230 HP I think? It still feels pretty sluggish if you ask me. It is really nice though with nav and leather.

Accord is cheaper to insure. MUCH quieter.
Yes, the RSX get's old as a commuter car. We have had an RSX, now have an 04 accord V6 6spd w/navi. SWEET! Also have 2 civics. The accord rules.
RSX-S was a lot higher to insure, LOUD but fun, however your butt got numb after a long drive. The Accord is so much --- smoother.

it depends on your driving habits and your future use of the car..
IMO, rsx because i like almost everything about that car. great aftermarket parts to invest into it. responds to mods pretty well. and can look real nice

get the V6 lx accord. definitely faster than the RSX. (it's actually about even the RSX-S if not a little faster) the V6 lx accord is not much more than the 4 cylinder, plus you get more for your money.
All depends on what you really want out of the car...they are completely different. I personally would go with the Accord since its quieter, smoother, and more roomy. The body styling is better too, IMO.
k24 vs k20. the accord has more torque. id have to have to say, rsx looks better, less black plastic covering equipment that you dont have. and no nasty hubcaps. but mystic is right, accord will be quieter and smoother.
You know one thing I hate about the Accord is you don't really sit IN the seats. It feels more like you sit ON them. They don't have alot of side bolstering, and it feels like you slide around alot....especially with leather....I'm just really used to my car with the side bolsters nice and snug and you really sit IN the seats...

Yeah, like everyone mentioned, the Accord is more of a touring car while the RSX is more sporty. You can even change your own gears while in the RSX (assuming you're comparing both auto's).
Personally I'd get the Accord coupe just because it has larger rear seats.

the rsx base has k20a3 the 4 cylinder accord has the k24a4(ors something like that). I think the rsx will definately be faster, if speed is what your looking for. The accord has alot more room in the rear.

I have a 2k4 RSX and let me tell you... The ride is harsh for daily driving... The chair is uncomfortable, however that issue is taken care of with the new 05's.... When I drive my car and my dads 2k3 Accord, his accord seems to be A LOT faster on the freeway however in the streets, it is much slower...
I'd go with the RSX because of the acura name it carries with it. Plus I've test driven both and I like the handing and feel of the RSX better. Even when it comes to styling, I like the RSX's trim better. But thats just my opinion. One thing's for sure, the accord's interior is gorgeous.

The Accord sounds more practical but I think I will either stick with the Civic a little longer or go for an RSX. I've always gotten kind of conventional cars and the RSX seems like it would be something a little different. It wuold be kind of a one time thing of getting the car I wanted. Accord Coupes aren't that common, but they are still not that uncommon either. Plus I like the exterior and interior of the RSX better. Hey, if I got sick of the RSX in a year I could maybe sell it. But actually I am also thinking of buying a house which would change my financial priorities, and the Civic would suit me well in the area I am thinking of living in.
