what gear?

what gear do you guys cruze in at like 30mph on city streets? is it better for gas millage to bog the motor in like 5th gear, or barely touch the pedal in 3rd gear?

keep your rpm's around 2500-3000 and you'll be fine. bogging the engine is not good for gas mileage, neither is high revving it.

Why the hell would you put it in 5th at 30? Thats like trying to drive with the engine at idle.

which ever gear gives me the least # of RPM's and is high enogh not to bog the engine.

Im the opposite, mine annoys me below 2300ish rpm, so I always try to keep it above that.

i don't have an exhaust but I still usually cruise in 4th, 5th I just use for highway speeds.

4th for me when cruising, but I hardly ever coast at 30....90% of the time I'm going about 45-60.

I'm usually in 3rd.. but I'll be in 2nd if I'm in high volume traffic so I can quickly change lanes. Not really good for fuel economy but in 5 o'clock rush hour traffic, I'm more concerned with being able to change lanes more than I am gas mileage.

just keep the rpms under 3,000, 5th gear at 30 miles per hour means you have no control of your car, on the other hand if you're cruising the blvd in 1st gear at 40 not only is your engine going to be lod, you're probably going to blow something. I can hit 60 in 2nd gear, but I wouldn't cruise like that, quickly go into 3rd, 4th, then 5th.
