But yeah, just because you modify your car to make it have more power, doesn't mean you have the right to use it recklessly on the street, putting other people's lives at risk for you to have some fun. If this were the case, then every Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren, etc owner would be going how ever fast their cars can go, just because they have the potential. Doesn't make sense to me.
If you want to race someone at 100 mph, go to a track, that way if anything goes wrong, you don't hurt someone else.
And as far as the excuse that "it costs too much to go to the track" or "I don't have a track near me" then don't do it, simple as that.

I dunno any statistics so I wont lead you to believe i do, but I can tell you from personal experience - I've been pulled over 4 times, 3 for speeding, and I wasn't high for any of them. In fact - after each one of those experiences I wished I was - i wouldn't have been speeding if I was stoned. Actually, i was driving around yesterday with my friend and I actually told him I drive better after I smoke. OK, so maybe not BETTER, but whenever I smoke I actually go the speed limit without really trying to.

driving normally - a rule of thumb I use is 5 over the limit is the perfect speed - not too fast but not the deathly slow speed limit. i mean really....who goes 25 in a residential? ever try just 30?? it feels MUCH better. but after I smoke its back to 25 without even thinking about.

I think law makers, or whomever regulates speed limits, were stoned at the time of deeming safe speed limits.

i worked in an ER as a trauma pca and tech for 3 years. you'd be amazed how many people actually DO test positive for marijuana and the like after getting in an accident, fatal or not.

Can you prove that Alcohol was the cause of an accedent? It may not have caused it, but it sure as hell contributed to it. and as you said, ther are a lot of bad drivers out there, do you really want them to be worse drivers because they are High?

first, I just wanted to say that smoking pot isn't bad - i never said anything about driving while smoking.

2nd - when I smoke and drive - I feel like a slow my role and actually follow the speed limits/general laws that I don't when not stoned. Thats just me, i don't speak for anyone else.

what's scary is people who have been in an accident drunk driving or under the influence of pot talked just like you.

many people, for some reason, have this fallicy that they drive "better" when they are drunk or high, because they think "oh i have to be extra careful cuz i'm drunk/high".

regardless of how careful or better you think you drive when high/drunk, the fact of the matter is you don't. your reaction time is slower and your driving is impaired. whether it "feels" like it or not.

As far as people driving while high/drunk, no question its dangerous but its up to the person getting behind the wheel. Everyones free to make their own decisions in life, just be prepared to deal with the consequences should something go wrong. Weed is a much safer drug than alcohol or even cigarettes in my opinion, but as with all three, the problem is addiction not the drug.

I didn't say i drive better, in fact i think i said "its not that I drive BETTTER...."

Its like this...when you're driving do you always watch your speedometer to make sure you're going exactly a certain speed? No, ya don't. You drive at a speed that feels comfortable to you at the time. Sometimes you feel like driving fast so you put yourself in human radar mode and drive extra carefully. Sometimes, you feel driving real slow so you drive in the slow lane and chill. But either way you don't look exactly how fast you're going. My point was simply that whenever I drive after I smoke that my natural impulse is too drive slowly..and when I actually looked down to the speedometer I usually am going the posted speed limit.

Is this what this site is going to become?

Now, I like my Civic. I like the fact that it is easy to work on. I like the fact that it gets almost 37 miles to the gallon with gas at about 2 bucks a pop. It is not slow, but it is not fast either.

I remember coming to this site to learn about the little differences in the 7th gen Civic. But sometimes I log on and either get really pissed off or feel that my brain has been sapped of cells. It is rather amusing sometimes, the scam artists, the attention ******, and the wanna bees. I get little wanna bees rev on me all the time, I just ignore them and keep going.

I wish that this site had a button to ignore all NEW MEMBERS. Or maybe they need to be signed on for a bit before they could actually post.
