I didnt know that they had to govern based on the tire rating...... thanks u did ur homework. Fastest 150 in a 99 SAAB 9-5 and 160 in a WS6 w/5 people in the car and the t tops down runing out of road.

Then again... not everyone in a honda has z-rated tires

Aside from that, yes YOUR z-rated tires flex at high speeds too. Sorry dude, it's physics. The centrifugal force at those speeds are much stronger than the stiffness of your tires. The tires being built for speed have NOTHING to do with them flexing or not flexing. What it means is that they are built to resist the amount of friction at those speeds, therefore the tire will not shred itself to pieces from the immense friction and g-forces of those speeds.
but they still flex and cause your speedo's accuracy to be off directly proportional to your speed.
at 150mph you have probably a 4% speedometer inaccuracy, the extra 2-3% being from tire flex.

notice here how they talk about the flex rating of a FORMULA ONE RACE CAR TIRE!
so yes, your Z-rated tires flex too.

FYI, the force variation is determined by how much the tire will flex at a given speed, and the spring rate is how much flex while cornering.

But after the tire is cured, it undergoes a special inspection procedure that measures force variation and spring rate. The flex characteristics of each tire are marked on the tire so a race team knows how much air pressure to add to change the effective spring rate of the suspension.

He might have bought them from someone who decided not to use them and didn't want to ship them. Granted you can get crappy Z-rates tires, but if it's a decent brand, and their treadlife is low (220 or lower) then they are probably a decent tire.

i can take my 4th to about 105 and have to shift cause it is up at about 7000 rpm's ill take it to 5th and take that to about 115-120 i have topped that yet and i drive a 02 civic ex but trust me 115-120 is a crazy feeling and i doubt 135 is possible cause while im at 115 im almost redlining again. btw it does take forever to get the car to that speed and the fact that my engine is 99.9% stock doesnt help me the .1 percent ill put into my short shifter which is but isn't an engine mod
