Scion tC though... That takes the cake. It makes more torque than the RSX-S and its about 5k cheaper, and insurance is a lot less. It's been selected as the possoble car of the year. I bought one, got rid of my turbo civic and evo for it, and have no regrets.
The car RESPONDS very well to mods. An intake made a dyno proven 12.9WHP increase, with no tuning, stock exhaust. Greddy's soon to be released turbo kit is making 230WHP on a stock motor with a carb exempt installation. What's not to like? Plus the interior is 10 times better but of course I'm a lil biased.
Check my sig for car domain to see pics of my tC.

Thats a tuff one and I'm gonna be completely unbias since I own a Honda and a Toyota. They are COMPLETELY even! Except when it comes to going around the track, the celica is quicker. I would go with the GTS because of its well respected engine, its tuned up celica engine is in the Lotus Elise. But anway, comes down to what you want to do...
On a the rsx forum, I read once that the 2 stock cars went up against each other on the drag strip and the RSX won by something really funny... .0023 secs. But keep in mind that the RSX gets 10 more horses for 05 (however still slower than the celica around the track).
If you're gonna be modding the car, go with the Celica because there's so much more you can do. There are TRD superchargers and all sorts of amazing tuning tools for the Celica. Another thing is that a done up Celica gets more attention than the rsx because of its styling. I know ppl are going to argue with me for saying what I'm about to say next but its my opinion, I find that Toyotas are built better than Hondas. I think this because we have a civic, accord and camry/celica in the family, and I find an obvious difference. Plus the jef fighter interior just makes me fall in love with the car...

I've heard alot of reliability issues with the Celica GT-S, so thats something you might want to research if you plan to get one.
As for me, I'd go with the RSX-S, it handles well (after getting rid of the stock tires
), has good power, and some nice luxury features (leather seats, stereo, etc)

Umm...the Rsx-S is also wicked as N/A and boost. We have a few guys in the 12s N/A and much lower with boost. Both engines are pretty much equal. If you like handling more than straight line, get the Celica. If you want more of a straight line, then get the Rsx-s. Also, the Rsx-s has more mods than the Celica and the gap is only going to get bigger because the Celica is getting discontinued and now we have the TC.
Another factor to add in is that the Celica is harder to drive. When I say this I mean its harder to stay in lift when shifting into a higher gear when racing. The Rsx-s is easier to drive and keep in i-vtec when racing. Don't believe me? Ask lucky318 or something like that, he has a Celica and has been saying this forever. Its really hard to choose between the two because they are both pretty much equal as performers meaning that you can't go wrong with either one. One thing I love about the Celica is that you can get HIDs as an option and on the Rsx-s you can't even get them unless aftermarket.
DaPipeLayer, oh I know that the RSX-S has wicked N/A potential (210hp at a decent RPM out of a 2L engine) but the Celica still has a pretty decent weight advantage and better cornering. As for being harder to drive, I don't know about that, I mean, if you look at how the GT-S is doing in D stock in Solo II you'll see that its pretty competitive.
Furthermore, I don't think that the TC is at all the successor to the Celica, its not a sport car, its a somewhat piggish car that trades in a smaller engine and lighter weight for easier driving, sound deadening, torque and 2 more doors. They're two different classes of cars.
As an aside, I really like the interior of the Celica more than the RSX-S not to mention the high-RPM fun some ECU reflashes can get you.

k20a engine have more upgrades.
Celica is lighter.
Stock vs stock two evenly matched cars where I would give advantage to the celica in terms of handling.
In my opinion both cars are good looking.

I dunno about the looks. To me, the Celica always seemed like a chick's car. I guess it doesn't help that I mostly see girl's driving it. It's like when I see Celica, I expect to see some hottie driving it. Same thing goes for the old VW cabrio or new Bug convertible...haha.
