Mistaken Identity
SO, I am driving to school after work yesterday on I-495, and I see a red 92ish Prelude, latino driver (no offense), purple tinted windows, music blasting, and a bunch of cheesy yellow stickers on it. Flames, Eibach, and Nuespeed were some of the companies displayed via the stickers. The one that threw this over the edge was the huge sticker below the side mirrors.
That was the sticker, basically, but in yellow. I laughed my *** off at that. WOW, you have a CD player! Welcome to the late 80's man!
Later on that evening, on my way home from class, after thinking I have seen it all, I begin getting tailgated by a red 98-99ish Eclipse. He finds a clearing in the traffic and takes off. All I hear as he passes me is the raspy noise coming from the hole in his muffler. He immediately cuts in front of me as we approach a red light. I look for GST or GSX badging on the upper right corner of the rear end. What I saw next almost made me puke! In place of what was probably a GS/RS badge/sticker, was a official chrome emblem from possibly a Prelude. The emblem clearly read, "VTEC"!
Alas, the far too common in these areas case of mistaken identity.
In case anyone is familiar with MD and its various ghettos, I saw both of these vehicles in the Silver Spring/Takoma Park areas. The root of all ghetto hoopties grows deep within those areas. Just thought I'd share.

heh.. one time i was at a v-dub dealership with my cousin (he has a 20th anniversary GTI) and outside, there was a black jetta with yellow decals/body vinyl all over it.. including a jeff gordon "24", APC winshield banner (as well as apc all over it), and lo and behold, a plastic vtec badge on the side... i was trying so hard not to laugh, and i noticed the dealers in the showroom went into hiding to not laugh openly about it.. lol

At the advance auto parts store here in my town they sell those rip off apc skyline gtr badges. so far i have seen a mustang and a 7th gen civic proudly sporting them. ugghh
I work for Advance Auto Parts, and I hate that we sell apc stuff, there is more of it stolen then what we sell of it. This one kid came in one day and bought like all the emblems we had, GT-R and SiR emblems to put on his 98 Contour SE, it was so funny. I haven't seen him around lately maybe he got beat down.

lol I know this may sound cruel, but whatever...if I were to work at advance auto and some punkass kid trying to be "gangsta" walks up to the register and purchases badging for his mom's car, I will do everything possible to LAUGH MY *** OFF IN FRONT OF HIS FACE! Then I will rip one of the emblems out of the packaging, and smack it on his face.
