s2000 saftey...
I was watching a video on the design and testing of the RX-8, and they were driving it in the snow. Modern RWD cars usually come with traction control, or dynamic stability control, which uses ABS and TCS together. The 8 has both, and they showed a video of it in the snow with it off and in the snow with it on. Off, it was slipping and sliding all over the place, and on it stayed right in line. A world of difference.
I'm quite sure the S2K has this feature as well. RWD cars need this in most applications, so I'd say snow really isn't a big deal for these cars.

the guy probably just doesnt want to sell the s2000 to some kid thats gonna be his first car, because so many 16 y.o.'s total their car the first year and he doesnt want to see that beauty f'ed up... just a guess
my mom has a s2000 (which she plans to boost by the way...midlife crisis I think
) and I've taken it for a spin...the ride is a little rough but that's what you expect from the car...decent power, decent stock traction and handling
my only criticism is the torque...I'd love to race her uphill
