i get shocked too, during summer usually though. damn, i never saw that video before. that would be scary! the shocks don't bother me, i'm used to it. maybe it has something to do with the stock interior material? aftermarket sparco seats should be a dealer recall to prevent shocks

My fix for static problem is get rsx leather seats =). No more cloth seats = no more static shock hehee. J/k but i think it also depends on the weather too, i use to get shocked all the time from my civic, i never did in my camry and it had cloth seats too. But i haven't gotten shocked since i installed my rsx seats though. Just see as a way of your car telling it loves you lol.
I've been getting shocked for awhile. My girlfriend is starting to get shocked when she gets out of the car so I've decided to buy one of those grounding straps. That is, if I ever find a place that sells them.

All that you have to do is, when you open your door, hold the bottom part of the roof with your hand as you get out of the car. That way you're still grounded and you won't get shocked (or as bad). Just try it, it works for me!

That's how I go out of my car and I don't get shocked anymore.

I used to get shocked everytime I closed the door but that was when I first got my car. Now it's doesn't seem to shock me anymore. On the other hand, my girlfriend gets always gets shocked and she complains that my car is trying to kill her
It must only shock civic newbies as a right of passage or something

Happens to me all the time too, its kind of annoying.. and somewhat embarassing. I doubt this is suppose to be a "normal" thing with a Civic. Anyone know the reason as to why this is happening? ... and perhaps a *real* solution, other than grabbing onto the roof?
I thought it was just me...
