Physically impossible for an auto 7th gen because of air resistance (coefficient of drag)and gearing issue unless you have a turbo and making 250hp to the wheels.

Some of you are so FUULL of it.
Stock auto Civic SI-G (cdn). I had a near empty tank of hi-octane fuel, no one in the car, sunny day, no wind, no traffic out on the highway. Perfect chance to test her...
Roughly 180 kmh, give or take... as I was more worried about handling the car and watching for any stupid obsticles on the road.
That's when I realized having 5 gears instead of the AT's 4 would help, aswell as realizing there was a limiter cuz she was still gradually picking up speed right up to the 180 mark.
IMO kilometers are better than miles simply cuz they're more accurate. I don't see a big diff between like 60 and 90 mph - it's like a fraction of an inch, how useless. You American Civic owners should use this as your excuse if you're ever caught speeding.
...and why the hell do our gauges go like well past 260 kmh? Is this incase we find ourselves going downhill?
you guys know stock speedos over 90 arent acurate.. mine said 142 but with gearing, final drive, and tire size i know its 138 when i hit rev limiter
I've been up to 95 in the Vic, no need to go any faster...
In the past year:
120 in my old 1990 toyota pickup
154 on a Honda 600F4i
145 in a Lincolin MK8
137 in a Jetta 1.8T
I've had enough speed for a while, fortunately no tickets though.

who has anything to gain from lying... NOTHING !!!! its a discussion and thats it.. if you need to lie about your top speed, then you might as well lie about your ***** size.
I have had 140(indicated) out of my 02 SI on the way to Minneapolis from North Dakota . As i said this was what the speedo said. it was @ approx 7000RPM in 5th though. ADMITIDLY the speedo is less accurate @ high speeds. It still felt fast as $h1T though.
I had 155 out of my old modded 2002 1.8 turbo beetle though.
Never thought a bubble could move that fast. Turbo's the only way to go!!!

yes yes...i really do believe u went 148MPH on a EX 5 speed....
common ppl...be realistic at least!
112-115mph. 2003 ex automatic. stock everything, just aem sri.
i tried going longer but got scared of police and it wouldnt even get higher then that. it paused at 4000rpm and wouldnt get any higher. or maybe im just not paying attention to the speedometer because i have to pay attention to the road. (during nighttime).

Uhh... Getting around governors?
Damn, skippy, I think we have people trying to compensate for something on the thread...
With the governor sold on california models, at least with the LX mine tops out at 115-118 or so on the speedometer (On the 5 coming from OC to San Diego thru Pendleton).
Anyone know a way to get around the governor / reprogram the chip? It ticks me off a little bit, but at the same time I'm sure it's a bit dangerous to be running that fast on the totally stock crappy firestones.
In my old V-6 Camry I hit 135. Funny how the car died at 140K with a dead tranny, then at 213K with the same problem on a used unit.
As my tranny guy said, "The lifetime of a transmission is inversely proportional to the size and weight of the driver's right foot."
Guess thats why I got the 5 speed. Shoulda gottent he VTEC head, but i didnt think 4000 more for 12 horses and a sunroof was worth it...
