For the last time, since people didnt bother to read the thread.....
the ex has the highest speed limiter of the civic coupe/sedan lineup. it wont let you go over 130-135. period. end of discussion.
if you saw an INDICATED speed on your speedo over that, then you fall into one of the following:
A. You have aftermarket rims/tires that are different size from stock and they have affected your speedo.
B. you have an aftermarket ECU
C. You're lying.

i always maxed out at 130 mph cuz people on the f orums here say its 130 max, but Im sure it can go above 130, not too much above. At 130 my rpms are like at 6k so istill have .8k to rev..

if your that worried about the percent difference of acutal speed versus your speed on aftermarket tires then simply do the conversion and look it up to be accurate but most of the time its like .96 percent or something

i know what a rev-limiter is, and ive never hit one in my car, youd think if you reved past the redline that youd hit it, i havent yet. ie. no rev-limiter
a 1982 Toyota Celica, 22R carbed.
usally, only fuel injected engines have rev-limiters, older cars like mine dont have the onbord computers needed to run a rev-limiter. after i put the MSD ignition box in my car, then ill have an adjustable rev-limiter.

around the 130mph mark. you'll be limited to that. there's that whole legal thing about a manufacturer being required to limit a car's speed to a speed = or less than the maximum speed rating on the OEM tires.
