Yes. . the 7thgen vtec kicks in 2800 to 3500 somewhere in there. *I think. Someone tell me if I got this backwards. If you floor it then it's going to be later because the RPMs get up before the car knows WTF is going on. If you are gentle then it'll kick on early. The vtec causes the car to be a little louder, which is more noticeable on older cars, and more noticable when you have mods such as intake.

ic!

very nice information, thanx man!

hm...now it's freakin' snowing in Buffalo...

wtf....it was a shiny spring several days ago...
hehe, it's a good time to test my firestone affinity LH30, compared to my old Lemans on my oldie new yorker...

damn, i just washed my car yesterday..

anyway, can anybody explain about the term K24, K16, what is that ? K**?

it's kinda strange too that the vtec on our civic kicks in at approx. 3000rpm...
that supposely means that the valve will open larger than normal, longer that it suppose to...that means, more fuel being burnt...right?

in '00 SI, if the vtec kicks at 5500rpm, that means that it will only give a power kick for a while....mainly from 5500 to 6300 rpm...that we change gear...
that's a pretty short time for the vtec to kicks in....means less time for the valve to open abnormaly...right??

The k24 is the motor from the tsx/accord/crv, ive never heard of a k16. Maby a d16 or b16??
And why would you shift at 6300 rpm?? I get the best times when i take it all the way to redline
