Questions regarding Civics...7th gen
Hi Guys!
I'm actually a new guy in here...so be kind with me =)
Do you guys happen to know about ToastyGhosty's DIY posts?
Anybody know about the rubber carpet mat on his Civic?
Gee, that one is cool...Anybody know how to get that carpet? where?
Anybody here know how to fix that *%&-ing cracking dashboard noise in our Civic?
I heard that this problem is a common one in all Civics....
Thanx in advance!

The noise may be coming from the glove box. Some of us have wrapped some tape around the latch to make it close tighter. Don't know about anything else. Rubber floor mats you mean? Most stores sell those.
thanx for the reply..
actually, what i meant about the dashboard is actualy the top part of it. just below the windshield. It sometimes crakling *crreek* noises like crap. It's probably because of the join between the top dashboard and the control panel whichprobably not fitted right.
Anyway, i was talking about Ghosty's floor mat. Now, I've been looking around Buffalo, NY, but i can't really find a good rubber carpet like his. Except if I simply go to Honda dealer and buy that pair of expensive original carpet mat...
anyway, I read a thread regarding how to turn of the A/C in the defogger mode. However, what is the pro and cons that ur gonna get with deactivating the A/C in defogger mode?
is it using more engine power with A/C turned on (which leads ur car to drink more fuel)?
will it create a moist in ur windows if u turned of the A/C mode?
Best,
Ticoalu

If you do the fix, the AC will still come on when you switch to defrost mode. However, you can now turn it off by pressing the button. Now the AC is good to get the moisture out, but I don't have any problems if the outside air is coming in (no recirculate mode).
And the AC takes up alot of engine power to run, so your car will be slower and use more gas. It's good to use it once a week at least to circulate the fluids.

now i know what happened to my A/C..
anyway, same thing happened to my oldie '92 Chrysler New Yorker, the A/C switch was busted. I've to relay the heater to a separate switch with a cable to the bottom my my steering wheel. This way, the A/C switch basically dead. I've been using the heater without the A/C...it's working fine...however, the air inside ur car....they are...not that dry...kinda moisty....
whaddya guys think?
anyway, anybody with experience with 92 new yorker? hehe..
