I want a slow car

This might sound a little odd but whatever. I drive canyons and stuff like that. I like really tight roads, all 2nd and 3rd gear with maybe even some 1st corners. I'm always looking for a little more response, a little crisper turn in, a little cooler brakes. I find all these people on here talking about what parts to get and what is crap and stuff like that. Dont take me wrong, cause I love my EM2, its the best car i have ever had, but I kind of want a slow car right now. Not to replace my car, because like I said I love my car. Do you guys (or girls) know what a bugeyed sprite is? Its an Austin Heally convertable sports car. They have terrible brakes, no power (like 45 hp, maybe, if your lucky, ona good day), no interior features and are not terribly reliable. The only thing I envy about bugeye owners is that they can drive at the absolute limits of the car and still not be speeding on most canyon roads. The thing is not fast enough to break speed laws going uphill and it doesnt stop or turn well enough to do it downhill. I really like the I dea of going for a drive and going as hard as I can all day without really getting into that much trouble. All I would have to do is stay in my own lane to avoid a lane violation. not to mention that no cop in his right mind is going to look at a bugeye and think "they must be breaking the law, I'll go folow them all the way to their friggin house". If I knew how I would put a picture of one on here for you just so you could see how ugly they really are. Im not that cool though so you can see one on ebay, there are always a couple for sale. I probabley wont ever get one just cause i dont have the spare cash or space. Having one car that i could do everything in was one of the reasons i got the civic in the first place, so its spot in my heart as my canyon car is secure for the time being. Sorry this is a lame topic. I just wanted to tell someone.

Umm. . ok.

IF you want a slow car get like an early 90's GEO Metro. I had one, they are slow. If you are going uphill you can't speed. . Plus if you plan to beat the car hard every single day then parts to fix it would be less than a rare "Bugeyed Sprite" that they'll probably have to import parts for. Plus the tires on a Metro are like 12" so they are easy to slow down when braking. Just an idea.

I drive an 85 CRX as my daily driver. Carborated engine and all. Works great and has enough pick up for the freeway too.

You think the bugeye is ugly? Personally, I think it's a really nice classic car. Nothing ugly about it.

I dont know about slow but maybe use the money you would use to buy a slow car and upgrade your suspenion and brakes and hell toss on some sticky tires and then you wont need a slow car you could handle the canyon just fine.

thats kind of what I was getting at. I have no trouble handling the canyons as it is. I just like the thrill, so if I could get the shrill out of a cool old slow sprite, I would be set and legal. This is only even a thought fro me cause I'm so friggin broke right now that a ticket or crash would force me to go BK and that scares me a little. Got a new job on the line though so maybe I wont have to worry about it so much.

the smart thing to do is just to not drive canyons till i can afford it again but im not very smart.
