Help with WRX
I just saw that a WRX was for sale near my house, so I stopped and looked at it. It is a 2002 with HKS exhaust, HKS turbo timer, HKS BOV, and Injen intake. He wants $19,800 negotiable for it. Oh yeah, it has 29,000 miles but only has 36,000 mile/3 year warranty. Just wondering if this is a good deal. Body looks to be in good condition, interior is black and looks good from the outside. Let me know. Any help is appreciated greatly.

Well, according to edmunds, a 2002 WRX with 29,000 miles should sell for $16,809 from a private party.
Then again, I made some assumptions for stuff that you didn't mention in your post, like I assumed it was a manual, sedan (not a wagon), came with a spoiler, was in clean condition, etc. All that stuff affects the price.
Heh, if it's blue that lowers the price a little, too. "Blue" wasn't an option at edmunds, but you can pick "light blue" or "dark blue." They take $53 and $73 off the private party price, respectively.
$19,800 sounds like a lot. Remember that you can't really add the price of aftermarket mods to a car when you're selling it. ie. if you have a $10,000 car with $5,000 of mods in it, it's not going to sell for $15,000. So find out how much he spent on mods and take maybe 50% of that (I dunno just a guess. I don't know if there's a rule for that or not).
Also find out why he's selling it, and if he'll let you take it to a mechanic to have it inspected or not.

He says he is leaving the states and it does have military stickers on the windshield. The sign also says maintained by an agent, not sure what that meant. I was going to have a friend of mine that works with cars alot and turbos alot also go with me to check it out and check the condition of the engine/turbo/intercooler....
Thanks for your help IronFist. I really appreciate it.
