G35 or 350Z
the Z has the better performance/ handling due to shorter wheelbase, weight advantages, so i'd pick it. THe G35 handles softer due to the stretched wheel base, looks better & has an extra pair of seats. The Z's cheaper too!! Guess i'd pick the Z.

I was asking because a good friend of mine is thinking about buying the Z. I told him to get the G35 with the 18 inch wheels, and brembo brakes. But he's a dumbass and will get the 350Z with auto tranny...

If he's going to get the auto tranny. . . . screw him. He doesn't know what he's doing to begin with.

The G35 is my choice too. Luxury, looks, and a good amount of speed. Check out g35driver.com Kinda like their public website like ours. You will notice that many of them are completely different from this forum.
Money is like no object on their site. Spending over 4 grand for custom wheels and tires. And those wheels aren't even lightweight since most are putting on 19s, 20s, and even 19-20 staggered. Alot of people on there are all show.
The problem is don't expect to go fast in a G35 cheap, because I read something on the other site that the ecu adapts to your mods and kind of negates it after awhile. Don't go crazy on me, I just read it on the other site. I don't really believe in it too much, because doesn't our ecu also learn stuff as we drive it. Some threads about the CEL turning off because the ecu learns it's really nothing I guess.
I love the way the car is stock and would love to just drive that thing in the streets. But if you're performance oriented and a track driver, take the 350z. I'd just prefer the 4 seats and luxury. Guess I'm getting old...haha.

I remember reading a thread here about a similar topic. Someone posted that it should be illegal to drive an automatic 350Z or G35

Greatcasa. . . with a turbocharged car it's highly recommended that any major mods be acoompanied by new AF mapping, anyway. . . but that does disappoint me about the Subbies.
Far as the Z and G35 go for mods. . . . don't mod EITHER ONE unless you're prepared to spend the dough on the Stillen supercharger or wait until the twin turbo is released. Naturally-aspirated cars that are already highly tuned (read Honda) do NOT respond well to bolt-on modifications. I have seen tests where almost NO HP was gained with a full aftermarket exhaust, intake, etc. . . . the Z and G35 are already extremely well-tuned cars. . . .
DuYaKnow . . . . do you know the Z and the G35 have the same ECU?

Didn't know that Yukonart. Good info. I guess luxury and speed always come at a costly price...haha.
Stillen is doing awesome work with Nissans. Possibly better than Nismo I read. Stillen's catback for the 350z got them 13-14 hp, while the Nismo is around 7-8 hp. I would love to see a Stillen supercharged G35.
The G35 is truly my favorite car right now, but have you seen photos of the upcoming BMW 6 series. That's an awesome looking car, but until I see it in person, the G35 is my favorite. Unless possilby an M6 comes out...hehe.
Yukonart, aren't you getting an STI soon? You've done alot to your civic and I would love to see what you're going to do with the STI. Just post pictures of your STI once in a while here...

Indeed I have
Indeed I will

About four more weeks, people.
I think the G35 looks better... I would rock it just so that I could brag about how rich I am (if I was rich). SO yea... G35! But I would still take an RX-8 over them both. For the handles, and just so I have say I have Rotary pride!!!
