The only thing that looks better is the grill. Tails make the car look cheap, and that bumper is just weird looking. It really doesn't look like a civic anymore. The H is the only giveaway.
Come on you guys......... Body design changes are one thing, but what about the suspension problems? Have they been fully addressed or are these frills just a way for Honda to get around a serious recal.
Go ahead, spend your money on a nice dress to cover up the problems.

like i said, i switched parking lamps with turn signal....but when you hit the brakes, and have the turn sig. on, you can't see the signal from the back......but you can switch the brake with the turn sig. (old parking l.) then your brake light would be dim, but you would see the turn sig. when brakes are applied. and no, no lights have burnt out yet. (i did this 2 months ago)
I think those who are saying bad stuff about the new civics are just in denial. That car is awesome, and the few changes they made really make it look hot.
I think it's awesome, and it does look a lot better than my '01, in my opinion.*
By the way, in 2006 they are coming out with a whole new gen., and since it feels like I just got my 2k1 just the other day and the two years have passed so quickly, I think I'll wait the short two years to see the next generation civic.
Anyway, from the Honda site, it looks like that dark metallic/pewter type color is available. Excellent!
*Although I do agree, it looks like the camry from the front... Not bad though...

I'm not in denial. I actually like the 6th gen civics best (especially Si). The newer 7th gens (01-02) are still nice looking, although very different. If someone gave me the option to trade my 02 in for an 04 for free I would refuse.

i saw the 2004s IN PERSON... not for long, but for long enough. i am not in any bit of "denial". i just dont think they are as sporty as their reputation. civics have the rep of being sporty, asking for mods, etc. The 2004's arent like that. i already said this in an earlier post, but now i have a buncha room to talk because i actually saw them (saw=putting my face against the window of the 2004 civic) . they arent anything special, in my opinion.

im not hating on modding, its just that theres a purpose for what Honda is doing to their cars, and it works.
"askin for mods" just get another car that asks for mods if the civics arent.

that is EXACTLY how i feel, its a Honda. honda makes cars that look and are effecient and save money, like the civic, which ISNT a performance car. its an economy car. you want a performance car, get an rsx. a lot of people are treating it like it HAS to be an economy car and HAS to be "askin for mods." the purpose of buyin a civic is not to mod it, its to drive it and save money when it come to gas. modding is up to the buyer, whether that person is modding for looks or for performance, thats fine, im not opposing it, but its not a reason to buy a civic.
i swear by hondas, my family has bought 4 in the past, including civics. how can i hate on something i trust in so much?
i say somethin different and you guys just ****in jump on it, i never said i disliked it. you base your accusations on assumptions? damn think for a minute and stop lookin down on people who just TRY and look at the topic from all sides.

if i can recall, i said "in my opinion," not in "skarteez opinion" or "04civiclxguy's opinion" or anyone else's. its a forum... a place where you can ask questions, get answers, and share opinions. i never said the 2004 honda civic was a bad car. i did say, however, 'i just dont think they are as sporty as their reputation. civics have the rep of being sporty, asking for mods, etc." And to explain the part about the modding reputation meaning that most, dont have a fit, i said "most" of the people on this website bought the civic because they look very nice with rims and any other mods imaginable. Geo Metro's, however, do not have a mod reputation (for obvious reasons).I am not planning on purchasing a 2004 civic, I am happy with my 2002 civic. I'm sure there are many people who will purchase the 2004 civic, that do not like the 2001-2003 look. Which is fine and dandy. Maybe those of you who cant read people's opinions without sobbing in your pillow should go to another website... like everyoneisjustlikemesotheworldisboring.com. Not everyone will agree with what i have to say, just as I dont agree with things other people have to say, but you wont see me crying about it. Express your opinion about the 2004 civic... that's what this forum is about. But i can guarantee you that I will not reply like you both have. And 04civiclxguy, I do feel I have room to "hate on" the 2004 civic. Just as you have the right to "hate on" the 2001 civic, the 1995 ford mustang, or the 1992 chevy astro van. The reason I have the right to "hate on" the 2004 civic is because I have the right to voice my opinion, even the one that says the 2004 civics are not as sporty as the 2001-2003 models. Now get some more tissue and start replying....

Hey don't sweat it. The car looks just fine and who knows maybe next year it might get a K18 or something. It's really no biggie.

I have a feeling when I see the 04 in person I'm not going to like it.
EDIT: As per hasport, the engine bay size from the inside of the Si is closer to a coupe/sedan than the RSX engine bay is identical to ours.
It looks allright I like the fact they got rid of the plate insert into the bumper like they have on my 01. I don't like the headlights since there is still going to be orange in the headlight and won't be clear like mine. The tallights aren't much to shout about but the look does look more aftermarket but still isn't getting much attention from me. Just save up for my next upgrade the Accord Coupe 6 speed. But yeah they should have done this design last year.
