did the seats always come 2 toned ?? i must have never noticed that. have any of you head about in 2006 in japan they will be makin a S1000 ?? its a 1.0 liter 120bhp, front wheel drive car. its small like a crx but looks like an S2000. it's in the new car and track magazine
I want to rape those seats.
And more torque seems to always sacrifice how high a car will rev. I never understood the concept except perhaps it's for fuel efficiency.
I was really hoping they didn't change the design of it drastically. Honda did it just like they did the recent generation of NSXs.

Notice most of the new Hondas are getting narrower powerbands. The RSX-S is slightly down to 7,900 RPMs from 8,000 RPMs. The Civic Si is down to 6,800 from 8,000. The "base" Integra/RSX is up in power and torque but is now 6,800 RPMs from like 7,400 I believe?
I wish I could get a good explaination why it's happening that way. Either way, the engines still sound tyte... except the K20A3s IMO.
The only car that has had it's increased torque w/o an alteration on the powerband is the Integra Type R for some reason. And unlike the GS-R/RSX-S EM1 SI/EP3 SI the DC5R is considerably quicker than the DC2R and will run circles around it.
Wonder what the new S2k will be like. Probably no different than the Hondas we get.
I just noticed...
Why is that from the outside the seats are black and on the iside shot, they're RED?

If you do the piston speed calculation, the 10% stroke increase a 10% loss in redline to compensate. The piston speeds were already extremely high, and I doubt Honda wanted to further push the envelop for reliability reasons. My guess is the fuel cutoff (what really matters ) will go from 9150 to 8200.
That's not true ... a 'higher redline' does indirectly make the car quicker. If you can extend the redline (without any significant torque drop), then that enables you to run shorter gearing which in turn will make you quicker. Or you can keep the same gearing and run each gear higher which still has the same result of making you quicker.
On the other hand if you shorten the redline and do not raise the torque curve, then you will hake the car slower as either the gearing will not take you as far up, or the gearing will need to be made taller.

I wonder how many current S2000 owners would consider a 1.8L engine w/ a 10K rpm redline as an improvement?
I sure wish my car was newer

I think its absolutly retarted that its still called an S2000 yet the engine size is bumped up to 2200cc.. totally bad style.. and then in 2006 they will update the name to the way it should be with the 2.2L...

Plus now I'm convinced it's fake now but I'd like to see some at the dealer or off an official car site.
