Watching Car and Driver TV and they, like every other sport compact media outlet, are pitting the Evo vs. the STi. I'm sure we all have our opinions on these beautiful machines, so let's share, shall we?? (I know this may be a repost, but oh well.) Love the body-style and overall performance of the Evo. But the STi has it beat on the 0-60 and interior design, IMO. Either way, I really wouldn't be too upset if I woke up with one in my driveway. Dammit, I bought a Civic. Oh, and I didn't have 30K. Yeah, that may have been a factor.
I sometimes wish I would have bought an evo. For the simple fact that the shifter on my STi blows. I feel like i'm going to break it when I shift hard. The evo shifts very smoothly, alot easier car to drive.
I sure wish my car was newer

Haha, hope you love the car though. I understand what you mean. I was thinking about a WRX for my next car, but the interior of them doesn't feel like a $25,000 car should. But, an awesome car nonetheless.

I'm happy to see some people on a board finally seeing the two cars as equals, despite what the test say. The numbers on these two cars have been so close in almost every test, you really can't go wrong with either one.
Personally, I'm still getting my STi in just over a month. Chose it over the Evo for a few reasons, mostly personal preference.
1. Like the interior of the SRX platform over the Lancer, any day of the week
2. Same for the exterior styling. The Evo (to me) just screams "Look at me" too much.
3. Larger displacement in the STi. . . more potential for staged FI upgrades.
4. TMIC over the FMIC means virtually no turbo lag. Although that would change with a swap.
5. I like Subaru's AWD system better. They've been building them longer, too.
I'd still buy an Evo . . . if the STi just didn't have so much personal appeal.

This guy on ImprezaWRXSTi.com caught (and roasted) two birds in one week with his.

That's one of the first things I'm doing to mine. . . screen insert for gaping hoodscoop.
