99 si vs. 2002 si
oh yeah i've seen it tried and tested. basically the new si will win the shorter races, where the old si can edge it out later in 3rd gear (if driver is decent)
but yeah, minivan or not give the new si some respect

well..........................im a track racer and if you know anything about performance and racing you would know that cars are compared by their power to weight ratio youre right its a litlle under a 100 pound difference but that makes a lot on the street/strip same BHP 02 has a little more tq but the lighter car will get the jump and by the time the heavier car can reeally get moving well we know what happens then ever heard of weight reduction? i wonder why on earth would they do that? pounds make a huge difference believe it or not. and i say too domestic not because of where its from i know that i consider myself an enthusiassss........Ta! but just that honda designed it to be a bit bigger you know what i mean? like compare that 02 si to the older 91 si hatchback see the power to weight differentiation?

bone to bone it would come down to driver... i agree .. now the reason im sure everyone loves the 99-00 si is because it helped pav the way for the importscene here in the states.. it was a fast *** lil car and still is .. im sure if you reallly liked the style of the new si you would all before it ...
Give to 03 Si a Hondata flash to take it up to 7800 rpm and then it has the edge, but even then it would be close. But stock for stock, it's a drivers race, there's no other way to put it.

The few 02 and up Si's I've seen were getting 16's...so FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN it look like the older Si with it's monstorous 110 pounds of tq at the flywheel
(around 80-90 at the wheels) has the nod, albeit by just a little. yea i have heard of low end torquue but once you take off your torque is depreciated and a lighter car with your similar specs in HP will fly right by you the older si doesnt need a lot of tq to take off because its not as heavy go and read up on power to weight ratios and you will know what i mean. a heavier car needs mor tq to get it movin and a steady momentum but a lighter cra will do the same and compensate for its weight. run someone with a passenger and the dump your passenger and run again and see the difference in pounds and response
