yes that is a turbo'd engine, at least in the EVO and some eclipses. at 168,000 miles...i'd be careful. if its not the turbo'd version of the engine, then i wouldnt add a turbo to it at that high of a mileage. Its jus too high for me to consider dropping a few Gs into.

Refresh my memory here. Is that a 1G or 2G (I don't know the years)? If you were to buy it, I'd rebuild the whole thing before going anywhere with it. the 1G engine was a little better than the 2G version of it, but I wouldn't trust a 4G63 with that many miles that someone else put on it. If its an RS with a turbo, make sure its actually a factory turboed 4G63 and not a turboed base model engine. This sounds a lot fishy, I don't know if I'd consider it at all. There's plenty of 1G Turbo Eclipses if you look around enough.
Don't drink and post, you will end up hilarious.

Another reason why i like the honda engine coding system
Too many mitsu cars use the 4G63 and get completely different horsepower numbers. (evo 8 compared to a '91 eclipse GSX both have a 4G63 but different horsepower ratings)

too many miles. If you buy that car, you might as well take out the engine and rebulid it. It doesn't really matter that it has a body kit and is lowered. you can do that for less than 2 grand.
if hes selling it for 1500 id buy it and drop a motor in it.....rs's dont come with 4g63's the motor they have a is a sohc (i think) and the dohc is motor (4g63) is the dohc motor found in gs's, gsx's and gs-t's if you are gonna buy that car dont spend more than 1200 for it b/c u WILL need a motor within a year. and its a 1st gen
1990-1994.............1g
1995-1999..............2g

I had/have one a 90 eclipse gs which is the 4G63 engine it is one of the better engine for the car's but unless it is the 4G63T engine it is not going to be factory turboed in which case it's the 1.8 liter instead of the 2.0 and your in the same situation as we are with the Civic's it's not going to breath right and you can't get as much power. Find a 1G GST. But be careful because the computer's on them Die at like 125K and rebuilt they want $250 And the tranny goes before that and of course the engine. Have about $3K for parts and rebuilds before you consider buying the car Cause you gonna need it. So many electrical problems. They are old but so fast. The money you spend on an eclipse per dollar will get you way more than you could even imagine with any honda. Which I have now... Good luck they are fun cars though but have a spare car
