95% or more of my daily driving is on the highway, about 60 miles a day@70mph or higher. So about 300 miles a week. At the end of the week, I still have over a 1/4 to 1/3 of a tank left of gas(btw our gas gauge sucks for accuracy). So I assume that I could go another 100 miles or more. When I fill up the tank and divide the amount of gallons it took into amount of miles I drove that week, I usually average anywhere from 34 to 37mpg.

I drive mostly freeway and get about 360-350 making my car almost run empty, meaning when i fill up, about half a gallon left. And our tanks hold 13.2 gallons of gas.
Cool thing is that my friend gave me her fuel cleaner stuff b/c she wrecked her car and had no use for it. I poured it in my car when it was empty and refueled the car to full. I started getting over 420 miles per tank with a/c running this summer. So if any of you want to improve your mileage, just give it a shot. It's been working for me for the last 3 weeks. So I guess it's worth it, esp when it was free for me...haha.
Also from the post, mileage depends on driving style and where you drive. If you're shifting near red line or high on the tach, i'm pretty sure you're killing your mpg. My car is auto and it usually shifts at about 4200 rpm on daily, normal, freeway driving. So if some of you feel like your car has low mpg, try adjusting your driving habits. Our cars are weak compared to most cars on the road, and I learned that if I dont' push it a little, our cars lag at traffic lights compared to other cars...

My typical driving loop (I'm a student) is about a 1.6 mile drive that takes about 6-8 minutes of stop and go. This gets me to the highway. Then, I drive another 12 miles on the highway. Sometimes its stop and go, sometimes it moves decent. The biggest pain is when it slows up, because here in Portland there is an elevation change of around 500 feet between my home and school. So, if traffic slows, the car often has to downshift to 3rd gear to make it up a hill.
Anyhow, most of the time I drive about 50-60mph (the flow of traffic) and I usually get 330 miles from 10 or so gallons. The best I've had was an average of 34.6mpg, the worst was 29 the first tankful in the car. The car had 24k on it, original air filter, and I wasn't used to how little I have to press the gas to actually get going
All things considered, my best fuel economy comes from those places where I can cruise around 40mph. The engine is turning low revs, and I'm not stopping. Stopping and starting is the worst in terms of fuel mileage.
Overall, I'm happy with my mileage. Its right in the middle of city/highway. A/C does lower it some, usually to 31 or so.
Good thing summers are mild most of the time in Portland.
