Just surfing this site and seeing that someone had posted a comparison between a 2004 chevy corvette z06 and nsx (92 model) i'm assuming, but as a car lover that i am, i hate "this car can beat that car" crap and they're not even in the same damn class. sure the z06 is faster but man it has LS6 V8 to push the 3.9 sec 0-60 where as the 2002 nsx type r "3.2 V6" v-tec does an impressive 4.4 sec 0-60. imagine if there was a v8 nsx with honda techs tweaking it out..****..can we say "so fresh and so clean" but lets go back to reality
Top Gear did a lap run with nsx-r on an extremely wet track finishing 1min 33sec. 2 sec faster than a Ferrari 575, 3 sec faster than an Aston Martin Vanquish. Since it was on a wet track, minus 4sec off that "1min 29 sec" damn on par with the Lambo. as it stands the NSX is getting its rep back and it aint stopping anytime soon....

I can't argue with someone who blatently ignores the fact that there are demographics and that the two cars were built for completely different purposes. It's a plain and simple fact buddy. However, if you're going to sit here like a 2 year old and go "not it's not.... no it's not"..

As I've said 3 million times. The NSX was built for a different purpose and different crowd than the corvette. However, I could probably put a gun to your head and you'd still not get that fact.

As for your toilet paper antics, you are still thinking like the fast and furious. Gee, I should get the fastest car I can for the money I got. Again, you just simply don't understand that many people who have money to burn don't give a rat's *** about getting bang for the buck. They just want toys.

i would humbly agree on the fact the nsx sucks with the numbers (look at my post many many many pages ago)

but i stand by s2kman's opinion of it being a japanese exotic, it's up there with some of the other japanese cars. and i agree someone looking to buy a vette will not be buying a nsx, and vice versa. buying the nsx gives the person a image of bling bling (look, i spent 90k on a slow sports car!) but neverthe less, it's still something that not an average person will buy. it's like trying to say someone who wants to buy a civic is also looking to buy a mercedes cl500 sometime soon. but indeed, the new z06 is a mtach for many exotics for such a price.

look at it this way
a corvette and a nsx is parking next to each other, which one will get more stare/glance/look?

a Z06 is certainly better bang for the buck than just about any exotic.

Hence the point of owning an exotic is NOT bang for the buck, nor the best performance you can buy.

its early and that made me laugh lol anyways imo the zo6 is in the same class a 360 modena from a performance standpoint but its a chevy so its not "classy" but the same goes for the nsx its in the same class just on the bottom end and its not "classy" because its honda still. there is nothing special about owning anything with a honda or acura emblem on it i keep saying that.

Again, that's the problem. Your opinion is only that, and not fact. Hence the reason many people disagree with you, including the people who own an NSX. There are people who think that owning an "american" domestic piece of crap is just that, and they are loyal to imports. You would call them fanboys. Yet when you state that "anything that's honda or acura isn't classy or special" you are not a fanboy? That's the problem, you are anti-honda and that's it. There's no telling you any different.

Both cars are sweet..... You get what you pay for ... you get something different when you buy a NSX compared to a Z06 ... I just think (S2000man) that some people see the performance and look of a Z06 and can't see how Acura justifies the $90 K pricetag... can you?

Edit - for spelling - plus Acura makes a sweet car IMO, TSX ..... Honda makes a sweet car, S2000 ... that is all ....

Tell ya what, since you're so hard on it, as someone said in another post, go and ask them why they paid 90k for their NSX when they could have had a Z06. www.nsxsc.com

And just because someone doesn't agree with your opinion doesn't mean they are wrong. As I've said, and I will say for the last time, not everyone cares about getting the best performing car for the money. Hence the reason people buy the NSX or exotic cars.

HELL No i am anti racing honda's. me and 75shot are just telling it like it is and for some reason you want us to bealive that a nsx is special and gives you prestige. no a nsx is not a exotic at all EXOTICS are not only expensive they are FAST the nsx is just expensive.

Well, your logic is stating that exotics are expensive AND fast. The NSX is faster than some exotics, so why do you consider the NSX not fast?

And as I said, just because you think that anything made by honda means it can't be prestigious or special is your opinion. there are plenty of people who disagree with you.


And anti-racing hondas? Are you kidding me? Honda is KNOWN for its racing. The S2000 is one of the best cars there is for auto-X in B-stock. The NSX-R owns JGTC in japan. Not to mention hondas YEARS of building championship CART engines, and plenty of F1 championships were won behind the wheel of a honda engine.

im not even going to say anything about the s2000 last time i said i thought it was a chick car you got all moody. but REALLY the nsx is a good race car in JAPAN lol . i think it was obvious i was talking about there production cars.

the NSX-R is a production car. Unfortunately due to the US's restrictions, it can't be sold here.

And you can say you think the S2000 is a chick car all you want. The fact remains I still disagree and chick car or not, it still owns the AutoX B-stock class.

I believe 7 of the top 10 spots last year in the national SCCA auto X championships in B-stock were S2000's.

Mind you, we are talking in stock trim. VERY FEW PEOPLE TRICK OUT THEIR 90K car.

If you have the ***** to waste that much money, go for it, i like the NSX, ill give you props. BUt will i think you know your ****? NO.

NSX is a good car, its faster than a lot of cars.

BUt its not exotic, its not fast as 98% of exotics. Its not as luxiurious aS ANY exotic i have ever sat in. It feels like getting into the madderhorn at disneyland. seats are hard and unforgiving.

the z06 is not an exotic. it is a sports car.

So you determine who knows what by the kind of car they drive? So you think that because someone drives an NSX they don't "know their ****"?

And in your opinion, you don't think it's luxurious, nor do you like the seats. It's your opinion that the car is overpriced and underpowered.

Yet it's faster than several exotics out there, from a performance standpoint.

i never said no one modifies their NSX. i said very few.
and you cant argue on that one. most owners of an NSX dont even change the rims.

A tricked out NSX can own a lot of cars. Even exotic stock. I love tricked out NSX's and i like Stock ones too. I KNOW they are slower than a lot of cars in its class, and IN MY OPINION, its not worth the money.


edit: i didn't mean if you drive an NSX you don't know your ****. I meant if you think an NSX is a high performance exotic, you're kinda off.
you're right on the "knowing the ****" part though, it was pretty stupid...and i can't argue with that.

When Derek says dime a dozen, he means that Vettes are pretty common on the freeways. Which is true - I see about a dozen of them every single day during my total hour-plus commute. On the same token - I've seen maybe half a dozen NSX's in the past entire year.

I'm not rich - I just drive all the way across Houston on my way to work. Houston = no public transportation = each household owns about 2 or 3 cars. There's a car dealership about every 5 miles on the freeway. You see every type of car imagineable driving through town.

Ok, i see the NSX. It's truely an exotic like what DEREK said. Even Car and Driver says "it's still one of the most civilized exotics money can buy." For a daily driver, the NSX provides the comfort one needs to commute from place to place. It's the most comfortable car in its class. The NSX is an underrated car just because it's an "overpriced Honda." Like the NSX, the porsche 911 carrera is also a 6 cylinder with 315 horsepower, why don't you guys say the 911 is underpowered? It's not a V8, like the cheaper corvette Z06 which has 405 hp. Would you rather have a porsche 911 than a Z06? Who gives a crap abput bang for the buck when comparing these two cars. Anyways, the NSX may have a V6, but when this car hits VTEC it's fast. 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds and a quartemile in 13.4 seconds at 105 mph. This is not bullshit, i got it from car and driver. Do some more research before posting.

ok, do you own an NSX? have you ever ridden in an NSX? or are you just a fanboy. IF you own an NSX, why did you make an account at a honda civic website?

From firsthand experience, an NSX is not comfortable. The seats are rock hard, and the climate control is the worst out of any car i have ever ridden in It is almost as uncomfortable as a vette. Most of the people on this site never have, and never will, ride or drive any of the cars they talk about.

a stock NSX pulls a 0-60 in about 5.1 -5.2 ....thats a ways off from 4.8.
