i'd take a Z06 anyday. its pretty much my dream car. oh, honda people always forget about torque. also, for the price of a nsx, you could have a TT LPE Z06, running low low 11's or high high 10's
here's how I see it......just to think about......
NSX's 1/4 mile =approx. 14 sec.
01+ Civic EX 1/4 mile=Approx. 16 sec............
.........hmmmm......$80,000 vs. $17,000 for 2 seconds....???

Go on NSX-Prime and ask NSX owners why they like their cars. You'll learn a lot more from someone who has actually been behind the wheel of one, rather than someone who just spouts out #'s from Motor Trend or Autoweek.

you really think nsx owners buy their car because of 1/4 mile time? i dont think so
im sure old mustang 5.0 could pull 14 and you can get it cheap.
lets all stop arguing..
But yet the people that "spout" out #'s have been behind the wheel.....thats why our rich friends at Honda Tuning and Motor Trend make so much $$$$. They get paid off the hizzo to inform consumers of performance characteristics by comparing select vehicles. Yes, you do make a connection with a car...every car you sit in. I get a semi when I ride in my buddy's Supra (760 wheel hp) and his turbo and bov are so loud you go freakin deaf. In a Geo metro your hoping not a single friend of yours see's you and in a NSX (or whatever your choice of car is) you connect by staining the seats with excitement saying look at me I'm cool now. No I haven't done that in my car. Numbers help people decide on what better buy their going to get. After that they "connect" or whatever you call it. I don't connect...i'm not dating my car....I hit the clutch, hit the gear, hit the gas and I'm GONE!!! and that's my .02....don't spend it all at once kids.

your looking at it in the wrong way. its like apples and oranges. Z06 is a damn fast car that is compared to vipers. NSX is way more refined car from suspension to shifting. I mean if you want seat of the pants power Z06 is a great car. But if you want an exotic car that can take corners and drive at high speeds comfortably then NSX is a great car.
i would love to own a leigenfieter(spelling) vette. now that rips any kind of a$$. 770 hp 720tq. handeling is substantially better than any porche and acceleration is like being in a rocketship.

I could be wrong as well. Those are bad a$$! here's what Car & Driver has said over that last 3 years.
Watch Speedchannel for re-runs of the videos & tests!
That link does'nt work right. Type z06 into the search field if you're interested/bored!

...If the NSX is such a great chassis for racing, why aren't they seen more often in racing? NSXs seem to be in a class with vettes and vipers, so why aren't there any in, say, Le Mans or SPEED GT.. or something like that? Do they race them often in Japan???
...I was always under the impression that NSXs didn't have the best weight distribution with the mid engine. And when I'm at the track (...race track... not drag) the high horsepower cars I see spinning off track the most are NSXs.
ok heres my .02
JamesL yes they race them alot in the Japanse Grand Touring Championship and they own. They run in the 500 series with supras and mclarens.
The NSX is a niche car honda hasnt really done much to it in the 10 or so years its been out some mild changes but nothing like the amount of time and effort put into the vette. Honda looks at the NSX in this way just a niche. They put more time into the replacement for the prelude(s2000) than a new nsx. From what ive been reading there is supposedly a big change for the NSX coming in the near future either its going to be dicontinued (unlikely) or its supposed to get a new engine( sc-v6 or v8).
The vette is a classic no douobt and yes it has come a long way but it is not in the same class as the NSX. If you look it up the vette competition in price is the mustang, bmw and the lowend porshes.
As was stated before the NSX is an exotic regardless of stats its not concidered a daily driver the vette is.
OK my mindless ramblings have concluded

NSX's have perfect 50/50 weight distribution and very neutral handling characteristics due to the midship engine layout.

Yeah! You're Right! But who the hell can afford it!
