...lol. I find it ironic that you call other people's responses 'impetuous' when your responses are the ones that are impetuous. Do even know what 'impetuous' means? It means sudden, not-thought-out, lack of deliberation. Three adjectives that describe all of your posts in this thread.

NSX's have perfect 50/50 weight distribution and very neutral handling characteristics due to the midship engine layout.

numbers wise, the z06 would own an nsx. but i think the thing about owning an nsx is prestige. i dunno about everyone else, but around here you don't see an nsx as often as you do a z06. the price tag on an nsx makes sure that your average joe can't afford a brand new one. most people that buy an nsx do it to show that they have clout and make big bucks. even though i luv honda, i wouldn't mind takin a z06 for a spin just to feel the power. but i'd rather stunt an nsx. to me, it turns more heads when an nsx rolls up at the stop light. just my .02 but i think it's unfair to compare the two because they were built for different purposes to cater to different target audiences. i also would like to see more done to the nsx and hopefully the new model coming out will make me want one even more.

The NSX is a niche car honda hasnt really done much to it in the 10 or so years its been out some mild changes but nothing like the amount of time and effort put into the vette. Honda looks at the NSX in this way just a niche. They put more time into the replacement for the prelude(s2000) than a new nsx. From what ive been reading there is supposedly a big change for the NSX coming in the near future either its going to be dicontinued (unlikely) or its supposed to get a new engine( sc-v6 or v8).
The vette is a classic no douobt and yes it has come a long way but it is not in the same class as the NSX. If you look it up the vette competition in price is the mustang, bmw and the lowend porshes.
As was stated before the NSX is an exotic regardless of stats its not concidered a daily driver the vette is.
OK my mindless ramblings have concluded

I was just going to say that the NSX owns in JGTC.
And the NSX in 92 WAS quicker than the C4 vette.
And the NSX is NOT geared for the same crowd as the Vette. The vette is a muscle car geared for the muscle car crowd. The NSX is considered an exotic.
You can make a $60,000 vette faster than a Ferarri... but which would you rather have?

I stand corrected on the s2000 thing
I was watching the JGTC on speedvision recently and surprisingly the only competition for the NSX was the supra THe r34 was getting owned.

JGTC?? Big whoopie doo da...
A souped up JGTC NSX would get owned by a C5-R. No offence to NSX lovers, but NSX is just a big fish in a small pond.
Bottom line is anybody who buys an NSX is either retarded, or has all the other cars already and wants something totally different.
Hey, I'll give credit where credit is due. This car was state of the art. When it was released in 92, there was nothing remotely close like it. They SHAMED Ferrari.
But it's 2003 now, and you know this car has issues when it costs more than a Mercedes-Benz SL500, Dodge Viper, Porsche 911 Carrera and BMW Z8.

Well for the money you not gonna beat a Zo6 period. The car costs like 50 and change and has a performance level on par with a 360 Modena. Why are you even comparing it to an NSX, don't waste your time. That isn't even a challenge. You are just making the NSX look stupid. The Z06 is a track ready car, so people who are saying the NSX will completly outhandle it......wake up. Put that car on a track and it can hang with ANY production car that is sold in the world. PERIOD.

and to quote stats from magazines itll pull anywhere from a .99 g to 1.03 g around the skidpad.I have had the chance to sit in one while m cousin was piloting it, holy ****, i nearly creamed myself.Just my .02.
My favorite myth is that every American muscle car sucks at handling and can't do anything but a straight line. Anytime someone posts a fast muscle car, its "such and such japanese car can o3wN that in an autoX" I'm sorry but even if the Nsx outhandled the zo6 alittle, which is the most it would, 200 hp and 300lbs/t.
for a little while thats how i compared cars by their 1/4 times...till i got my civic and decided it wont be that fast and started to work on suspension....I would love to have that NSX for how well it handles, not how fast it is...and it CAN be made faster...but i doubt i would need it faster..
Import or domestic, if a car's fast, i have respect for it. the zo6 is a GREAT car for the money. I generally tend to like imports more, but the domestics have some of the best speed:$ cars out there right now. SRT-4, Mustang GT, Z28, SS Camero, WS6, Z06, there's a damn fast car for just about every price range. Not to say the imports dont have their great buys, WRX, Z, etc... but stock imports to stock domestics, the domestics have the edge.
It all depends on what you're looking for in a car. Great performance, power, torque, luxury, handling, driving feel, pimp factor, whatever.
Why rip on the NSX for only having 260-something hp for $80k when a Ferrari F360 Modena can't even break into the 12's and it costs close to six-figures? Same deal with a lot of Lamborghini models and super-exotic Italian cars.
If all you're looking at is 1/4 mile times, then good gosh the $500,000 cars must be worst car buys in history.
And if all you care about is 1/4 mile times and skidpad #'s, dude go build yourself a cheap hatchback race car that runs 11's for < $8k.
Do you honestly think the guy driving around in a Murcielago cares that the Z06 owner sitting next to him has 400 hp for $50k? I don't think so.

i'm not sure about u guys... but i would rather be seen on the road in a NSX, imo, it has earned it's reputation as a dream car... and i really don't think honda is tryin' to sell speed in this car... it doesn't take a genius to figure out that it's not worth it's price but who in that category would want to drive a car that's everywhere?

People that need attention would not want to drive Z06 they would prefer a NSX real car enthusiast will analyze both carefully to match their needs. In my opinion the Z06 will be the one on top most of the time.
I personally havent been a fan of the vette. I give it its due respect but i havent liked a body style since the late60s early 70.Actually i havent really liked much of what detroit hasput out in the past 30 years, but In my opinion the viper is a much better car than the vette more expensive yes. and as far as detroit muscle goes the viper and the WS6 are my current favs.

Just see way too many new vettes around here it's as simple as that, granted, few to none are z06's but doesnt change the fact that corvettes are as common as mustangs round here...
