Jack
Jack
I just realized the other day my 2014 civic EX coupe is missing the stock jack. I did a search on Ebay and noticed the older model jacks are much cheaper than the newer models but they look the same. Therefore, can anyone tell me if they are the same and could I use an older model jack?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Jack
That's what I meant regarding Ebay. The older generation jacks are cheaper while the newer ones are more expensive. Thus, the question again is are the older generation jacks the same as the newer generation?
Re: Jack
A jack is a jack. As long as it’s rated for the correct #’s I don’t see a problem with using an older one.
I have a scissor style one with tools for a Honda Fit lying around. I can look at the rating on it.

Instead of an indent like this...
I know I'm probably making a mountain out of a molehill. Sometimes I'm just a stickler for actual OEM item for my car.

Re: Jack
I recently had new tires installed. Prior to that, I had slow leaks and an abundant of objects embedding into them. It made me think of the possibility of being stranded without the tools to install my spare. Thus, the reason for my question. I may just take the advice of a junkyard, older generation jack on Ebay or Harbor Freight. I have to get over this OEM mindset and realize it's just a jack.
That's the fact, Jack!
Re: Jack
meanie even if You hit the Junkyard im prety sure even a 8th Gen Jack should fit & work perfect i dont think Honda has changed any of there Jack designes since i have owned One on a Previously older Car being since 1986.
