I got a job. :)
Nothing to be proud of, but it will pay the bills until I find something more career oriented. I will be employed at Panera Bread in Shrewsbury. Don't know my hours yet. I have this orientation to go to on Thurs. at 4:00PM. We'll see how that goes.
So yeah... Um...

Yeah, it's on Rt. 9. I'm not sure if the place is new? ??? I hadn't noticed it before, that's true... I know that the management is new though.
Ok Brandon... Um... Did you have a full time job? What besides the base pay do you get for working the counter? Any tips? What about medical insurance? Any other fringe benefits? ???

Benefits are optional and you can sign up for them during certain periods...I think it was for 30 days every 6 months; could be different now though, I havent worked there for a year. Company policy is that you can't put out a tip jar, but you can accept them if offered.
If you work the closing shift, whatever is leftover in the bakery at the end of the night you can take home if you want....uhmmm.....I can't think of anything else at the moment, but i'm sure i'll come up with more.

Hey Brandon... About the tips... How much did you make off of those? Was it a considerable amount? ??? 1/3 your base pay? 1/2? ??? I made over 1/2 my base pay in tips when I worked at Dunkin Donuts. I'm wondering if the situation will be similiar here...
I think I got $20 in tips the whole two years I worked there.....you won't make much if the one you are working at is anything like the one I worked at. But I got a lot of raises...I started at $6 an hour, when I stopped working there I was making $8.32

It was really short. I actually have a longer orientation that I'll go to today. Last time I just signed a bunch of papers and was quickly introduced to the place. I also got to take home some of their stuff. it was yummy.
That's basically it though. Today I'll be there from 3:30PM to 8:30PM. We'll see how that goes. I bought work clothes already too. hehe...

Their chocolate croissants are kinda gross....it's regular croissant dough with chocolate chips in it and drizzled with honey....blegh. The raspberry and cheese croissant on the otherhand is verrrry good.
