OT: Installed Injen CAI on the Celica
Took us a while, but we got it on ourselves, without paying somebody to do it.. haha. Satisfaction of a good job. Sounds like a FRAM commercial.
Anyway, we went out with it to "test" it out... lord behold, what do I see? Honda Prelude-SH.. sweet. White, altezza, lowered, rims, exhaust... intake too, by the sounds of it. 2 people in it, but we were we. Light turned green and we both go--Celica pulls on it HARD. We stop at the next lights.. and he tells me to lower the window. He says to us "Nice re-badging job. Real sleeper." I was like, huh? I told him it's a real GT.. and he thought I was lying. He says he could tell from the sound of the engine And tells me that he tied a GT-S before.. sure, whatever. He just raced somebody who couldn't drive. Fact is, if he knew anything about Celicas, he should have known that it's a GT from the rims, exhaust tip and lack of foglamps & moonroof.
Other kills tonight: Old Explorer.. yawn. Cavalier Z24 3.1L V6.. yawn. Sunfire.. yawn!!

i dont race cause i know i'll get stomped on.. hehe
from all your Celica GT Praising I'm gonna hafta go out and test drive one. lol. I just find it hard to believe that it pulled hard on a prelude SH, when the 0-60 on those is 6.8 stock. but i'm not saying this is BS. I just want to go try it for myself. haha.

Yeah, go out and test drive it. To be honest, I didn't think it would be that quick myself.. I thought it was another car built just for looks. But yeah, it pulls hard in almost any RPM. Totally unlike VTEC.. very flat torque curve.
As for the Ludes doing 6.8s 0-60mph, I'm not too sure about that! Most time slips I saw were around 7.5s... and 1/4mile usually around mid 15's. I'm sure some people have done better, but that's the vast majority, even in major magazine publications. Having said that, I've seen some miracle times for the CelicaGT.. some guys are doing 14's with intake & exhaust. Kinda hard to believe...

So street racing is cool again until someone gets into an accident?
