Need some advice from midwest...
should i get a custom turbo built or an rsx type-s swap? custom turbo with custom exhaust and AEM EMS is lik 7.7. the swap is like 9. what should i do?
If the money is not a real concern, go with the engine swap. You will get a definate 200hp vs. whatever a custom turbo can give you with a safe level of boost. Also if you decide you want a turbo later you will have the hp of the K20 plus whatever the turbo adds

the turbo is a T3/T4, nissan silvia intercooler with piping, turbo back 3in exhaust, AEM EMS, dyno and street tuning, larger fuel pump, larger RC injectors, tial wastegate, tial bov, and boost control valve.
the swap...well, engine, trans, and ecu upgraded to hondata. it costs 9 american. but i have a hook up in T.O. who can probably do the swap there for 10 canadian w/no hondata upgrade. what do u all think? my car is a daily driver right now, but when i graduate from skewl and start working full time i'm probably going to get a toyota rav 4 for the winter and my civ for the summer...."constructive" comments, questions, concerns?

I sure wish my car was newer

K20 will definately give you more potential. If you can get the money, go for the swap and then mod your heart out. You'll quickly hit your max hp with a turbo, but you'll have a lot more room to build with the swap. Thats just what I'd do. And if you can scrounge up $7,700, then $9,000 shouldn't be a problem.
Custom turbo! Buy the parts yourself and let a shop tune it. Customs shouldnt be more than 5 grand. think about it.
AEM EMS=1000
Turbo (probably a t3/t4 hybrid) 600 new
Downpipe= let the shopmake one. 300 at the most
FMIC=depends on brand, but brand new itll be around 6 to 700
Manifold=revhard makes a good one or what for hks=400 or so
oil lines and stuff to tap the oil pan=100 bucks
BOV=new hks=160
Charge pipes=buy some from jcwhitney=100to 300 bucks
let the shop cut them and fit them
Injecters=100-250
wastegate=Tial=300
custom 3 inch exhaust=200-300 (depends on where you go)
neccesary tuning and dyno=300 to 1000 maybe (depends if they know what they are doing)
Total costs=around 4500 to 5000 estimate.
My opinion=do it yourself then you will learn more about your car. If you get stuck, take it to the shop and let them do the things you cant. SAVE!
