So a friend and I are driving allllll the way out to this meet. It's a pretty far drive...like 10 hours. It's definitely July 13th right? So what else are we gonna do besides have a BBQ and cruise at night? What time is this all gonna start? I need more details people! Where are the planners? The more info you can give me, (hopefully) the more Civics I can bring from the East Coast!

ok ,i set up the 1st Chi meet for the most part, and Snowman has been pretty active in this thread, so ill see if maybe we can work together to set it all up, cause i live like 3min from the spot we'll meet at most likely
Yes me and Mugenracer will try to get this thing off the ground. So far July 13th seems to be good for everybody.
Time: 2:00-3:00 P.M, I think we gotta give more time for the people who are driving out far, so they don't have to leave so early. Remember to put your contact info in the other thread that I made if you need more info.

i think with the distance that some people are traveling that it should be a 2 day event, i'll look into hotels and stuff but as for directions i'm not sure i'm not from chicago but fairly close (~2hrs away)
Well this was brought up before. But nobody could be sure what to do on the second day which would be Sunday. Some people from around here could throw ideas out, but I really can't think of anything for the second day.
I'll look into some hotels.
I'll look into some hotels.
What about having people come friday night and stay in a hotel, then we have all day saturday. Then if people want to stay they can and the people who want to leave can. I would stay because I would be coming from Ohio.

I think we should start posting the info it in the General Ramblings Forum so people would know about it. Because so far we are stuck in the Midwest July 13?? My Favorite number
Wow 6 VW's. Yes we could all go to the movies and watch: The Fast and the Furious! Oh wait that's out on DVD.
I changed my mind. How about this: we have people come on Saturday. The meet won't be too early say 1 or 2 but you know by the time things get started... Anyway, people then sleep one night (saturday night) at nearby hotel (i'm gonna call around). The reason they would sleep Sat night is because we have night cruise activity on Sat night.
This way people won't have to go back home when it's all dark. They could leave on Sunday, when traffic is easier, and refreshed from a good night's sleep. The rest of us who live close, it wouldn't be a problem.
Alright guys, I need feedback from this. How many agree with what I planned and would be interested in staying a night? This way I could later find out about group rates and try to get you guys a good price.
Let your opinions be heard. And yes more people need to know about this. As the meet gets closer, I'll make a post in General Ramblings to draw people's attention. Now it's too early, people would start forgetting and things like that.

yea, me and snowman came up with the above plan.......i think it works well, and there is a moderate hotel right near, its a La Quinta, its nice, been there before, and its like 2seconds from where the meet is.

Hey, there's already a thread in General Ramblings, but I let it get buried so it doesn't get whored out.
If the organizer of this meet wants to post updates or something in it, that's cool, just try not to ***** it out too much.
If you do post something, make sure to include a link to this thread because this is where the discussion needs to be.
And if you want me to update the first post of this thread when you decide on a date and/or place, just let me know and I'll be glad to update it for you. It would probably be better to e-mail me because I don't always have time to check posts.
Here's a link to the main thread in General Ramblings......1st Annual 7thgencivic.com Meet
Thanks,
