Can a cold air intake and catback exhaust blow a head gasket?

Can a cold air intake and catback exhaust blow a head gasket?
I have a 96 ex coupe with the d16y8 with 180000 and i want to do a few small performance things to it(just for ***** and giggles), i was talking to my buddy whose a mechanic and he said if i do those upgrades, i would need to do a new head gasket. Is this true? If so, how much would it cost?

No it wont affect engine performance, they'll just make more noise
