Hawk bought his entire car for around 5 grand, add about another grand or so on top of that and his car has the swap, seats, rear disc, 5 lug conversion on it.
My entire swap is costing me 5 grand max.
Htown's was 10 grand because it was the first...there was a lot of labor charges with it, and a lot of custom work that had to be done with it. Custom work isnt cheap.
K series motors are going down in price it seems like every week. There is one on EBay right now for a "buy it now" price of $3500. I bought mine in april for $3800.
If you watch where you put your money, im sure you could do your swap for $4500 at the end of the summer.

It seems like the best way to do the swap is to buy a wreck and take EVERYTHING you need off it. But if a great deal on an engine came along it might be worth grabbing it. How much is JUST the engine worth?
anywhere from $3500 to $6500.
In 5 years the price HAS to come down as the supply is going to come closer to meeting the demand.
In 60 months at $120/month ($30/week) you will have $7200.
Until then enjoy the 33mpg and spend the 5 years refining autocross and roadracing techniques.

Ok, all I said was it was an alternative. I didn't say maxing out your credit cards and falling so far into debt you'll never see the light of day again was a GOOD idea. Just an option.
It's up to you if you wanna go for it. Personally I already have like $4k on my credit cards and I try not to think too much about the interest.
I'm pretty certain that I'll never find an RSX-S around here though, I've seen like 1 on the roads here ever. There aren't ANY Acura dealerships in Montana, so not many people buy them and even fewer wreck them. I would love to start a dealership here though, I know it would make a killing. But I'm not sure the legalities of it though ...
